book discussion JULY 2008

i have not been able to find a set of questions i like so we will just post a question you have about the first 4 -5 chapters of the book.
please when you post if it is about a certain chapter please mention that chapter.

we can also chat tonight when most have some free time. let me know.

What book are you guys reading?

We are reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer.

what do you think the soul will do to melanie? will she resist long?

I think the soul will try to help Melanie. The soul is intrigued by her. I hope we can learn more about her brother and Jared.


At first I had a hard time understanding who was who. It took me awhile but I get it now. Anyone else or am I the only one.

Not a fan of the seeker. For a woman you would think she would have some compassion.

I had a problem with who was who, I had to go back and re read stuff to get it. The soul seems conflicted, she wants to do her job and get the answers for the seeker, but I think her hatred for the seeker and Melanie's strong memories of Jared and her brother are causing the conflict. The seeker seems WAY too focused on the soul, it's like she has a conflict of her own she's fighting.


ETA: I've read all of this already and will do my best NOT to give away anything. I'm trying to remember what my thoughts were at the time when I read them.

i have noticed that the sole is intrigued by her and her past life.

i was a bit confused at first too.

I agree that the seeker could have a lil more compassion.

It does seem like that. The seeker is very relentless and stubborn, remind me of DH hahaha.

What chapter did you finish and what's going on I may be able to add some stuff
