We are still BFing. Almost 9 months! No signs of stopping anytime soon. I will wean her around 2 probably. I nursed Isabella until 23 months.

SHe does bite, but no teeth yet. I just press her into my breast then remove her if that doesn't work.

She still doesn't have teeth, so I won't have to worry about biting (until lil bro or sis)!

I do have to say that there is one positive to having the nipple shield..... I can't feel the biting as bad! I am still stopping her from doing it but man I can only imagine what it feels like for the rest of you! She did get me once when the shield fell off. OWWW

I guess no biting is an advantage of pumping. LOL. (HUGS)

I think it's official. DD hasn't latched on for more than a swallow since Thursday, and there's hardly anything there. "I'm a big girl, Mommy! I have better things to do."

Julia, I can't believe ya'll are still on the nipple shield, that stinks! Have you tried getting her latched on without it recently?

Hooch, LOL about no biting being a benefit of EP! I guess that would be kinda crazy if the pump randomly decided to bite you

The biting had stopped for us after a couple flicks on the cheek to let him know that was NOT ok, but it came back this week, turns out his top teeth are on their way in! If it seems unintentional I just take him off and very firmly tell him "no biting" and stop nursing, but if it seems like he is just biting because he is mad that I didn't realize he was done, he gets a little tap on the cheek. Seems to be working ok so far! Oh and Hunter tried to cut out a nursing session the other day because he was so happy with the solid food options (canteloupe and banana), then realized the error of his ways and nursed every 1.5 hours the rest of the day

I tried the other day and she sucked twice and then started screaming red faced and tears until I gave it back.

I need some help ladies tonight sucked. I nursed her before bed for at least a half hour then she woke up an hour later nursed for 15 more minutes and then started screaming. Would not stop til she got 4 ounces out of the freezer.... is this the beginning of the end?

    ((HUGS)) Hang in there mama!

I'm actually struggling a bit with supply atm. I've had a NASTY sinus infection for about 2 weeks...been on antibiotics and all that. My Neti-Pot just wasn't touching it so I've had to resort to taking sudafed and claritan (sp? - it's the Meijer brand of the same thing) several times this past week in order to be able to even function. It's killing my supply. Well, that combined with lack of sleep, and probably not enough to drink. And of course this weekend was insane so I only got to pump twice on Saturday and 3x yesterday. My output is WAY down. Now that things are starting to settle from the holiday weekend craziness, I'm trying to get back into my routine....eating my HN Cheerios, pumping regularly, drinking more liquids. So far I'm still down. Luckily I have my stash to back me up until I can bring my supply back up. Looks like I'll be enjoying some oatmeal cookies this week. Now the neti-pot is finally touching it, so hopefully I'll be able to quit the meds for more than 12 hrs and not feel like my head is exploding. I'm not a good mommy when I feel that poorly. I literally felt so much sinus pressure this morning that it felt like my eyes were bulging and about to pop out of my head. Ugh.
