    Looks like I get to claim another spot!! I will add my story and everything in a little while. I guess I need to go make a ticker! eek!

    I'm Caitlin and DH is James. We have one DS who turned 2 on 3/25/13. It took us a very long 27 cycles to conceive him. We got a BFP on our 5th IUI but lost that baby due to being a BO. We conceived DS a couple cycles later on our 6th IUI. We didn't think we could get pregnant on our own so we haven't really been paying much attention. DH has a lot of health issues and so we aren't able to successfully DTD very often. We only did it once in about 6 weeks and it turns out it was the day before I O'd and up popped a BFP at 10DPO. We were shocked then and a week later we are still SHOCKED! Ha! We have been in a very difficult place with DH not being able to work due to his health issues, but we think this baby is a miracle and a blessing. We are trusting that God knows what he is doing and that he wouldn't give us more than we can handle. We are thrilled that He has entrusted us with another LO.

    APPTS:
    3/29 - Lab draw to check Progesterone - 39
    4/2 - Had to go back to the office for a confirmation test - POAS and yep, still positive
    4/15 - First appt with nurse for lab work and questioning
    4/19 - First official OB appt!! - Had our U/S! Baby is measuring perfect with a HB of 120!
    5/20 - 10w5d - Appt went great. Had another U/S and baby had a HB of 170!
    6/21 - Next appt.

    TESTS and U/S PICS:

    Reserving my space!

    I got my BFP 2 days ago and was well and truly shocked. Hubby and I were not trying to get pregnant as we already have 4 children under 7, but it's a blessing regardless.

    This baby was conceived on my husband's birthday and is due the day before my birthday--December 15. I'm calling it meant to be.
    SAHM to DD1 (9/06) , DD2 (4/09) , DS1 (1/11) , and DS2 (2/12)
    Surprise! #5 due 12/16/13!

    My name is Amanda, 30 and DH is Dan, 31. This will be our 4th baby. I got my BFP on April 7th at 13dpo. I tried testing at 10dpo, but it was negative, so I waited to test again, and was soooooo happy when I saw two lines!

    Dan and I were married on June 26, 2004. We had our first son Nathan (Nate) on May 26, 2006. We concieved him quickly and had no complications with the pregnancy. We named him Nathan because it means, "God's Gift". He is an extremely intelligent first grader now, at the top of his class and fun to talk with. He is also very tender hearted, but LOVES anything "boy!" anyway, I got pregnant again when Nate was only 4 months old which shocked us because I was still breastfeeding, but he was weaning because it wasn't going super well. Unfortunately I lost that pregnancy extremely early. We were sad, so we decided we wanted to actually "try" and the very first month we got pregnant again. This time I gave birth to our second son, Luke on September 27th 2007. He is our "silly" boy. Everyone loves him because he tries to be funny and he is the life of the party. After having two so close together, we decided to wait to have any more. When Luke was about 2 1/2 we decided to try for #3. Well, after 3 months of trying I was pregnant, but I lost the pregnancy at 12 weeks. It was twins. We were devestated. We started trying right away again, but it took 10 months to concieve again. But we were blessed this time, and I gave birth to our 3rd son, Mark, on February 29, 2012 (leap day!). I was so shocked to go into labor on Leap Day. He is a very special baby, and we love him so much. We just decided to try for baby # 4 in March, now that Mark just turned 1. Amazingly, here I am after the very first month of trying. I feel extremely blessed and give the Lord all the credit. I am praying this precnancy goes full term and we have another healthy baby! Wouldn't mind a girl this time either...lol!

    My name is Sarah. I am 33 years old, married to Jesper, 41 years old. I am mommy to Freja, 4.5 years, and bonus mommy to Victoria, 8 years. My husband is Danish and I am American, and we live in Denmark. We have been TTC our #2 since January of 2012. It has been a big shock to have it take this long, because I got pregnant with Freja while on the mini pill! We had one medicated cycle in December, which resulted in BFN, and our doc recommended that we just go ahead with IUI, so we did in March, and got a BFP! We are super excited, but I am also super anxious.

    Hi there, My name is Marie. I found out yesterday (at the dr office) I am six weeks along, guess date is the beginning of Dec. I am thrilled to be having another child, to be a sibling to my almost 3 yr little boy. But I am terrified of the timing, as I left my husband of 6 years three weeks ago, and do not plan to return. This is going to be an interesting journey. I am grateful for this blessing, and hopeful for the future.

    Oh WTH, I'm all in now that I've told DH so I'm claiming my space. I've never been one for moderation.
    ************************************************** *************************

    Howzit!. My name is Roxi and I'm a South African living in New York City with DH and Furbaby Crazy Dog. We have been living in the US 2009. This journey is one that I've been waiting on since my niece was born in 2005.
    And it is now finally here!

    DH and I have been together 2004, married since 2008. Unfortunately there have been a few things that got in the way of us embarking on this journey: amongst other things I had undiagnosed Bipolar Disorder which then needed to be controlled, we moved from South Africa to the US, and not least DH was (finally) diagnosed with a Chiari Malformation. DH's condition has impacted our lives greatly, especially since he is unable to do most of the physical activities that a DH would normally do. While this might make for a slightly more difficult pregnancy (particularly in the 3rd trimester) so far we have managed to cope as best we can.

    We finally crested all of the obstacles that were standing in our way and began to TTC in December 2012. And for the first time in 5 years Lady Luck was on our side...... or so we thought. Unfortunately this celebration turned to mourning when I miscarried at 7 weeks. The pregnancy did not progress passed 6 weeks even though we heard a heart beat at our 7 week appointment.

    My first normal cycle started on 3/14 and I started using OPKs because I wasn't sure how "normal" this cycle would be for me. And it worked out in our favour! I have become a bit of a POAS addict since using the OPKs so I actually took my first HPT at 4dpo totally not expecting anything (was not disappointed in that regard). I then tested again on 8dpo and thought my eyes might be teasing me because there was a line with no colour where the test line should be. And it was too soon for an evap line. I've been testing every morning since and finally got a "no squinting required" BFP on 4/11.

    Week 4 (4/11-4/17): got my BFP at 10dpo. I wake up nauseous and only eating or drinking eases it. I also crave orange juice and bananas. I have zero sex-drive.

    Week 5 (4/18-4/24): nausea is intensifying. Actually thought I was going to throw up a few times. My sense of smell is also becoming much more sensitive. Boobies are getting tender. I am so bloated. This is so very different from the first pregnancy

    Week 6 (4/25-5/1): been a not so nice week. Nothing horrific but still waiting for the axe to drop. Been crampy all week which made me anxious, but no spotting. Also Boobies have been very tender. So bloated! Headache all week too.

    Week 7 (5/2-5/8 ): Been mostly symptom-free this week. Felt really good on the weekend, had tons of energy and actually felt like eating. I've gone off meat; doesn't make me sick but holds no interest for me. Still very bloated - have taken to using a safety pin on my work pants because the buttons make them too tight.

    Week 8 (5/9-5/15): Was an off week. Nausea has increased. Exhaustion has hit full force. Back ache has set in. I got maternity jeans and pants so at least I'm comfortable in that regard. Boobs are bigger too.

    Week 9 (5/16-5/22): So freaking exhausted this week; been going to bed much earlier lately. Not helping my attempts at studying. Meat aversion has gone away. Now I'm starving ALL the time.

    Week 10 (5/23-5/29): what a sucky week. Exhaustion is kicking my butt. Boobs are a little bigger. Sleeping is not very comfortable. Appetite is back with a vengeance. And what little "belly" I had has disappeared

    Week 11 (5/30-6/5): been another tough week. So tired all the time and my temper is on a very short fuse at work. Boobs are bigger. Nausea is worse, but still eases when I eat. I've lost another 0.5 lb so that's a total of 5 lbs in 6 weeks that I've lost. Belly is popping in and out.

    Week 12 (6/6-6/12): worst week so far. Struggled so much with the lack of energy versus studying but somehow made it through and managed to write the last exam. YAY! no more exams. The Ensure shakes seem to be helping finally as my weight has stabilized mostly. Belly still nothing amazing. Boobs are bigger still.

    Week 13 (6/13-6/19): Been an OK to good week. Still tired but the exhaustion is easing. Nausea is easing, but I'm hungry every 3-4 hours now. Had some round ligament pains and backache. Had a mild headache for a couple weeks now. Breakout on my face is the worst symptom this week. DH told his office today about the pregnancy and it was a total surprise to them

    Week 14 (6/20-6/26): I'm feeling good this last week. Nausea is totally gone and my energy is coming back steadily. Some round ligament pains early in the week but nothing since. Unfortunately I'm battling with sinusitus so I've had a constant headache for the last few weeks. Belly popped even more over night on Monday. I'm really looking preggy now and it feels so good. Heat is starting to affect me more. Told the extended families.

    Week 15 (6/27-7/3): I'm feeling good this last week. Nausea is totally gone and my energy is coming back steadily. Unfortunately I'm battling with sinusitus so I've had a constant headache for the last few weeks. Belly popped even more over night on Monday. I'm really looking preggy now and it feels so good. And it seems like the emotional rollercoaster has started for me - Had a few random crying bouts this week over really stupid stuff. Like totally bawling about it.

    Week 16 (7/4-7/10): Great week. Nausea still gone. Energy steadily increasing, although I still crash at around 1pm and need a nap. Backache is almost constant. Sinus headache comes and goes. Had a few round ligament pains but that was probably from dancing at my friends' wedding. Another small breakout on my chin. Been obsessed (not quite craving) strawberries.

    Week 17: (7/11-7/17): Another great week. No nausea. Enough energy to walk nearly everywhere on our vacation. Had some nerve pain in my back, probably over-did it walking up and down the hills plus sleeping on the sleeper couch can't have helped. Belly is growing nicely. Boobs are a little tender, also growing. I can't seem to eat as much in one sitting any more. I think my stomach is being squashed already. Put on 3 lbs since my last appt. Still into strawberries. Still no discernible movement.

    Week 18 (7/18-7/24): The week started out really well, got tons of work done on the weekend and Monday but then Tuesday and Wednesday I was unbelievably exhausted. I slept about 16 hours each day and have been exhausted since but unable to sleep so much again. Also been kind of nauseous again. I think I felt movement a couple times but nothing since I've been so tired. I hope it's nothing bad but I will get the doc to check my iron levels next time I see him.

    Week 19: (7/25-7/31): Still been pretty tired. I still think it's more stress than pregnancy related. Mentioned the exhaustion to the doc but he didn't seem to think it warranted any blood tests. Still not sure if I felt movement, but feeling more of something. Felt so squashed in the middle, I can't believe I'm not quite half-way there yet.

    Week 20: (8/1-8/11): Still tired. Major sciatic pain and round ligament pains this week. Had the anatomy scan and doc confirmed the EDD as 12/23. Found out Squishy is a GIRL! Squishy is growing wonderfully, even though it makes me so uncomfortable already. She likes to sit on my bladder! Feeling more movement. Can't wait for DH to feel it too.

    Week 22: (8/19-8/25): Energy levels are picking up so the protein-filled breakfasts are helping. Haven't had any round ligament pains or sciatic nerve pains. Squishy is spending more time higher up so she's not on my bladder any more.

    Week 23: (8/26-9/1): DH felt Squishy kick @ 8:40am on 8/27/13!!!! Been a great week: Squishy is spending a little less time sitting on my bladder; energy levels seem to be stablised unless I eat something high in natural sugars (weird huh?); and she is moving a lot and regularly. DH has felt her move a few times this week but nothing as significant as that first one on Tuesday. We watched her "deform" the belly the other night, it felt like she was trying to stand up perpendicular to my spine so the belly bulged out to the right of my belly button. It was weird and cool at the same time! Been having weird dreams this week but that could be the combination of the vampire/werewolf books I've been reading and the fantasy TV show I've been watching. Not sleeping as deeply either.

    Week 24: (9/2-9/8 ): 6 Months!! Squishy is getting very active and I actually caught her making my belly bounce on video
    ->Weight: 152.7 lb

    Week 25: (9/9-9/15):
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 15" (39 cm), Girth: 37.5" (96cm)
    -> Weight: 154.3 lb
    Squishy has been sitting very, very low so standing and moving around is rather uncomfortable. Felt like the belly expanded drastically this week so I've started to measure it just to make sure. Energy levels are up and down, seems to exhaust me when I study extra hard.

    Week 26: (9/16-9/22): Friend C got to feel Squishy kick at brunch
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 15" (39 cm), Girth: 38.5" (97cm)
    -> Weight: 157.4 lb

    Week 27: (9/23-9/29):
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 15" (39 cm), Girth: 39" (99 cm)
    -> Weight: 159.1 lb
    Squishy is still sitting very low down. Ended up in the hospital on Thursday night due to continuous Braxton Hicks contractions for 3 days. Got strapped up to some monitors for 6 hours but thankfully no evidence of my cervix effacing, softening or dilating. But the contractions were consistently every 3 minutes for 1-2 minutes each. They considered booking me in and treating us with steroids for Squishy's lungs but my OB decided it wasn't necessary at this stage. Went to the OB on Friday for an unscheduled followup. Her heartbeat is strong and every time the doc checks her out she is head down. She is measuring bigger than 27 weeks... head size is about the size of a 29/30 week baby and she is weighing around 3 lb 4oz. On the energy front I'm not doing to badly. Have started going into the office once a week to help out my old team learn all the things I used to do while they try to find a replacement for me. It seems to take a lot out of me but I'm enjoying having some company. I was getting quite tired of being on my own all the time. I haven't done much studying still but at least I'm getting my assignment results back and so far have passed everything, so it's going better than last semester so far. I will ask DH to test me this week for my first exam.

    Week 28: (9/30-10/6):
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 15" (39cm), Girth: 38.5" (98cm)
    -> Weight: 159.5 lb
    Things are getting tough. This week on top of the constant contractions I've been suffering from backache and aching joints. Been struggling to sleep because every time I lie on my side Squishy kicks and punches the life out of me; lying on my left side brings out crazy pains in my left hip; and lying on my back means I can't breathe and gives me backache. I have taken to catching up on sleep on the couch during the day because it's the only place that doesn't make my body ache. Unfortunately that means I sleep even less at night. Also got woken up one night by period-like pains in my low pelvis. Didn't call the doc then because it went away after I woke up. Ended up in hospital again Monday morning because of more pains last night that didn't go away. No dilation, ffn test was negative, no presence of amniotic fluid. So they sent me home. The contractions are as regularly spaced as ever.

    Week 29: (10/7-10/13):
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 16" (41cm), Girth: 38" (97cm)
    -> Weight: 162 lb
    Thankfully a hospital free week. Contractions seem to be aggravated by certain activities which I have chosen to now limit. DH has taken over the dog-park duties because the long walk and the bending for the ball all make the contractions worse. Have also limited house-cleaning duties so I have to find cleaning help. Anything that involves bending or more than 15 min walking makes the contractions worse. Squishy is still growing steadily but the external belly doesn't seem to be so I feel her moving a lot more lately...sometimes it's kinda sore! Get nauseous after most meals but feel the need to eat all the time. Need to pee all the time. Getting up off the sofa or bed is becoming more and more difficult.

    Week 30: (10/14-10/20):
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 15" (39cm), Girth: 39.5" (101cm)
    -> Weight: 160.9 lb
    No visits to the hospital this week! Contractions have calmed somewhat, seem to happen mostly in the evening and at night. Reducing my activity level has certainly helped. Squishy is still growing while the belly is not. Her movements are becoming painful. The other day she did a starfish stretch and I actually yelped out loud. She regularly punches me in the hip or ovary. Sleeping is less successful. I seem to get about 3 hours solid sleep and then from 2am after having to go pee I toss and turn. I'm also incredibly thirsty all the time.

    Week 31: (10/21-10/27): 9 weeks left - down to single digits!!
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 17" (44cm), Girth: 40" (102cm)
    -> Weight: 161 lb

    Week 32: (10/28-11/3): 8 Months!!
    Oh my! Only 8 weeks left...... I put the crib together and installed the new mattress. And now every time I go into the bedroom it makes the whole situation more real. Had our last Birth Edu Class this week. Had an assignment to do but I just couldn't finish it. All the items I thought of seemed convenient or not special enough. I only found something that represents DH's energy & role in the birthing process. Oh well. It's supposed to be difficult and make you think properly. Has been a physically taxing week: Squishy has been punching, kicking and beating me up from the inside all week. Also had our Baby Shower this week and got totally spoiled

    Week 33: (11/4-11/10):
    -> Weight: 165.4 lb
    Been extra emotional this week: fighting with DH and crying every few hours. Upped my medication so the decision has been made to formula feed from the start. Sleeping is nearly impossible. I cannot find a position that is comfortable and getting in and out of bed is very difficult. I can't sit comfortably or get up off the sofa easily; I can't walk for more than 10 min without the contractions coming on.

    Week 34: (11/11-11/17):
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 15.5" (40cm), Girth: 40" (102cm)
    -> Weight: 166.2 lb
    Been suffering from insomnia nearly every day from around 3am. I suddenly hit an all-time low of being uncomfortable this week. I think Squishy had a growth spurt and at the same time decided to engage properly. I also have intense pressure "down there" which makes getting up and sitting down very difficult. Still very emotional this week. FurBaby was acting really weird this week, not wanting me out of her sight... I wonder if she can sense something we're not aware of yet... I've also been feeling a little nesty this week. If I was able to move easier I would probably have washed all the baby clothes and then reorganised all the dressers so that I could pack the baby stuff away, but all I managed was to pack the dishwasher before the contractions and "kicked between the legs" pain started up again. So instead I went online and double-checked my choices of bottles, warmer & sterilizer, and placed the order for them. I also picked up a pack of newborn diapers and wipes from the drug store. I just finished putting together the list of things that need to be packed for going to the hospital and the list of things that I'll need to stay at the hospital and now I'm feeling nervous and excited!!

    Week 35: (11/18-11/24):
    -> Weight: 170.8 lb
    11/19: Went to L&D again for contractions and cramps but one I got there the monitor registered only 4 weak contractions in the hour I was hooked up.

    I am doing the bare minimum to survive from now onwards until the baby is born because I am not coping with just moving around the apartment. Have started getting groceries delivered. Been sleeping on the couch this week because it's the only place I can get comfortable and it has made such a huge change in my energy levels! It has helped with my emotional levels greatly.

    Week 36: (11/25-12/1): 9 months! Final Stretch!!
    Went to Thanksgiving lunch with friends which was very enjoyable. Got a burst of energy to be active again now that I don't have to try and keep the contractions under control. Thought I might've had my bloody show on Friday but turned out to just be from dtd'ing with DH. Went to the dog park with DH and FurBaby on Saturday, was able to walk at a regular pace without triggering anything. Squishy gave me a scare later on Saturday by not moving much even after tons of sugar and me poking and prodding her, but she started moving again after dinner just as I was about to call the doc. Went to the park and did an amateur photoshoot of the belly. Still sleeping on the couch. Have taken up my knitting again.
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 18" (46cm), Girth: 43" (110cm)
    -> Weight: 174.5 lb

    Week 37: (12/2-12/8 ):
    -> Measurements: Vertical: 18.5" (48cm), Girth: 41.5" (106cm)
    -> Weight: 173.5 lb

    Week 38: (12/9-12/15):

    4/29/13: first appt with OB at 6w4d. saw the heartbeat heard it very faintly. Fetus is measuring 6w/6w1d so revised EDD is 12/23 but I'm going to wait until our next appointment before changing that officially. Otherwise doc said everything looks good.

    5/13/13: follow up bloodwork, maybe u/s. No bloodwork this time but we got to see Squishy. It's growing nicely, measured 8w2d so close on LMP calculations. Heart rate is 177bpm. Placenta placement points to a girl but we'll just have to wait and see.

    6/3/13: checkup Check up went fine. Just a standard "how are you feeling" and then the doc tried to listen to the heartbeat with the doppler machine but it wasn't working properly, so he tried to use the ancient u/s machine in the room but he couldn't get that to work properly either. He saw the heartbeat and that was good enough for him. I saw that Squishy had grown since the last viewing so I was happy with that.

    6/6/13: NT scan This was the most amazing experience to date!! We saw Squishy wiggling and jumping around! I could see the legs and arms and nose and even an ear! Also heard the heartbeat loud and strong. Won't get any results until after the blood tests at 15 weeks tho.

    7/1/13: Check up and blood work for Quad 4 test - Everything looks good. Heard the heartbeat through his horribly crackly doppler machine. I did a short recording so I can listen to it every day now Then he started to do another u/s before the nurse told him my insurance wont cover it so I got to see Squishy for a second. Saw the spine clearly and Squishy was almost standing up right and making these spastic little movements. He asked me if I wanted to find out the gender quickly but I told him not with out DH so we're only going to find out at the 20 week scan. He didn't draw blood for the Quad Test because according to his EDD (12/23) I was only 15 weeks yesterday and he didn't want to risk the test being invalid so I'm going tomorrow morning just for the blood.

    7/3/13: Blood for Quad Test - went back for the blood work. Haven't heard anything from the doc so I am taking that as everything is fine at this stage. Will hear more at my next check up.

    7/29/13: Monthly checkup - only took the Doc 3 seconds to find the heartbeat today. It was strong and steady and such a wonderful sound! Still waiting on the date for my next ultrasound...

    8/7/13: 20 Week scan (pink or blue?) - And we are TEAM PINK!! All her measurements are perfect. She's weighing in at about 15oz right now which is a little bigger than 20 weeks. She gave the docs great pics of her brain and spine and there is absolutely nothing wrong! Her heartbeat is still strong and good. She was opening and closing her mouth like she was gabbing away. She was not in the mood to be photographed tho and kept her hands in front of her face. And she almost didn't show us the goods because she had her legs crossed. I'm changing the official EDD to 12/23 now because the ultrasound Dr concurred with my OB.

    8/27/13: Monthly checkup - Found the heartbeat immediately, still strong. Blood pressure is good. I've put on 7 lbs so we're all happy.

    9/18/13: Monthly checkup & 1-hour Glucose test - Found the heartbeat quickly again, was still very strong. The doc checked me out to alleviate my concerns about some pains I'd had and everything is ok for now. Still waiting on the glucose test results, doc also ordered a check on my thyroid and vitamin D levels. I have picked up another 7 lbs in the last 3 weeks, hope the weight gain doesn't get out of control now that it is happening.

    9/27/13: Unscheduled appointment with OB due to ending up in the hospital the night before for continuous Braxton Hicks contractions. Doc listened to her heartbeat which is still strong and steady; he did an internal ultrasound to check that my cervix is still closed (which it is) and still long (which it is); he also did a belly ultrasound to get some measurements. She seems to really enjoy lying head down. According to his measurements she is weighing about 3 lb 4oz, and her head measures about the size of a 29/30 week baby... so she's a little bigger than most babies at 27w4d but he said not to worry.

    10/7/2013: Unscheduled visit to the hopsital due to contractions being more painful than previously. FFN test was negative; no dilation; no signs of amniotic fluid.

    10/9/13: 2-week checkup as requested by doc, due to contractions. Uneventful checkup. Cervix is still closed however he did note some fluid inside it. Squishy is still head down and right up against the cervix. She is measuring 31/32 weeks, even though GA is only 29 weeks. Got a finger wag because I lost 2 lbs.

    11/6/13: 2-week checkup. Uneventful checkup. No ultrasound. Heartbeat is strong. Squishy is still head down. My blood pressure was a little high but nothing alarming.

    11/22/13: 2-week checkup. Uneventful checkup even tho I was back at L&D on 11/19. No dilation and contractions were weak and non-progressive so they sent me home. No ultrasound at the doc's. Heartbeat is strong. Squishy is still head down. Doc advised me to eat enough protein to deal with ankle swellings.

    11/27/13: weekly checkup. Doc had to rush off to a labor emergency so only had weight and blood pressure read. Lost 4 lb since the last appointment.

    12/2/13: weekly checkup. Heartbeat is strong. Blood pressure is perfect. Put on 1.5 lb since last week. Doc says I'm almost 2 cm dilated but no effacement yet.

    12/11/13: weekly checkup. Good appointment. Heartbeat is strong. Blood pressure fine. Put on 5 lbs. Doc did ultrasounds and we got some beautiful pics. I can see my cheeks and DH's lips already! Baby is measuring mostly correct for 38/39 weeks. Doc estimates her current weight at 8 lb 3 oz already. slight further dilation, almost 3 cm but cervix is still long and high. Doesn't look like she's in any rush.

    12/18/13: weekly checkup.
