Whatever you do, don't buy anything from Best Buy. They are the biggest rip off! I'd buy online, you will save a ton. Once you narrow it down to a couple models, look at reviews on pricegrabber.com. I find that reading peoples reviews helps alot. The last 2 cameras that we bought were from www.buydig.com. They've had the best prices and good customer service.

oh...eta my camera is also a Nikon Coolpix (but its a couple years old, so I'm sure there are better models of it out there now. But Nikon tends to have really good cameras).
