Yay!!! congrats Steph! that's so awesome :woohoo:
Stef- you look fantastic! tfs
Whoo hoo! Finally.... I was going NUTS keeping that secret in!!!!
An official congrats to you Steph !
...I knew it...I knew that baby envy was going to bite you in the as% !!!
You look cute...love the baby bump!
...curious: what did your DH say? Does he know?! lol ....
IM SO EXCITED for you!!
...um, am I the only one who hasn't had another December baby? lol
Woo-hoo Steph!! (Harry's mum) Great belly pictures already too How is Andrew taking the news? Congrats and big hugs!!!!!!!!!!
Steph (E & soon to be A's mom) looking really good there! So glad to hear your pregnancy is going well. And please do keep posting here
Jennie- You will be the only one sleeping thru the night and with more than 2 brain cells left to think with! I am getting nervous about having 2 so little!
Yes, Andrew knows. He's the one that made me do the other test because the line wasn't dark enough to be true in the first one. He's hapy about it, even happier since the US.
How exciting Steph! I am so happy for you!
Jennie, I agree, I am so nervous about having 2 especially with how hard Eathan was and can still be.
Thanks for the pm Steph, I NEEDED to know the scoop! I am so happy for you, joining the land of the preggos again woohoo!! It makes me warm and fuzzy because I know how much you wanted this! Enjoy it woman, get all round and cute!!!
Thanks Char!!! That was the best SQUEE ever!!! You are so good at that
ugh so tired today, keep falling asleep, lucky maddi is here to shout "waake up mummy!" and poke me
Don't ya just love those! Eathan loves to do that too, but he doesn't poke, he jumps. His fav. thing to do is wake Dustin up in the morning. He jumps on him and say's "Daddy! UP UP UP!" and jumps up and down and then if he still doesn't get up he starts pinching his nose and moving his head back and forth. It is quite funny but he sure does get mad if daddy doesn't wake up. It's not so funny when he does it to me though :).
Thanks pretty cute Stef!!!
I'm having plenty of those days too Lauren I hate being so tired, it's driving me crazy.
OMG....I just wrote 'thanks'.....I meant Thats!!!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! Yay Steph!!
I can't wait to meet this little person!!!!!!! I've sooooo baggsd doing your baby pics!!!!
Oh and are we birthing at Mercy again???? I will have to come visit- and show Madison the gorgeous hospital that was so lovely to her. That hospital has a special place in my heart after they saved her life :cloud9:
Anyway.. getting a little ahead of myself!!
Oh was driving past your exit off the princes hwy the other day!!! I dropped Nan off at Avalon.. was quite the trek!!! Must catch up soon!
You rat bag!!! You shoulda' called and stopped in Yes, I am going back to the Mercy. To the Family Birthing Centre!! I'm so looking forward to it, busting even
Just updating again, had another appt. Different doctor again, ugh. He tried to talk me out of a VBAC, telling me the risks, etc. Then told me it looks like pre-e is coming back. Unfortunately he may be right on that. He thinks I should just schedule a c-section for 38 weeks, and if I go into labor before that I can see what happens.
I know I am getting some swelling in my feet and legs, so I think this baby may well be a January bub. I just hope this one will grow big and strong by then!
I am getting out all the preemie and newborn clothes, they are so tiny! Some of the onesies say 3-5 pounds on the tag. I hope I won't need to use those. Grow baby grow!!
We still don't have a name!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like I am heading towards a repeat c/s too Stephanie. Baby is measuring 3 weeks ahead and the doctor had said originally that if he is much bigger than maddi was that'll be the way to go (he is measuring bigger than she was at this stage bit that's just fundal height) u/s in 4 weeks to see where they think he is at. Otherwise a positive appointment, BP is good (even down a little on the other appointments), no protein, still head down, passed the GTT and all blood tests are normal so no anaemia or anything. Pretty uneventful pregnancy so far.
Wow, I cannot believe how far along you ladies are! I would love to see some belly pics! lol, since I'm not the one in them its easy for me to ask!
Sounds great Lauren! At least with a cs it is a little more scheduled, which is easier when you need someone to watch your toddler.
We are really not ready yet! Dh's car needs repairs, and that is the one that is supposed to take me to the hospital and bring baby home. Car seat is still in the attic, along with bassinet! I can't wait for the holidays to be over so I can just get baby stuff done and ready. Dh is working 6 days now (not his choice) and I can barely keep up with laundry, dishes, groceries, etc! Sorry for the vent
very true stephanie. We're nowhere near ready either starting to stress me out! but we'll get there
I can't believe how far you girls are along either. I swear that was me just a few weeks ago!
So... had a scan today at 34 weeks 3 days. Baby boy is look great, everything looks healthy and is right where it should be. He insisted on flashing his boy bits every chance he got, the girl doing the scan kept laughing because the little (or not so little hehe) monkey kept turning and flashing her everytime she had just lined up his leg to measure it. Seems he is a whopper though! according to his tummy measurement he was due yesterday thought I felt huge! and all the measurements average out at an estimate of nearly 8lbs already.... he'll most likely be around the 10lb mark if maddi is anything to go by. His tummy is by far the biggest discrepency so he is a chubby one (so was his sister) but he was big all over. Looks like we'll be scheduling a c/s on Tuesday morning so I may have an actual date for his arrival next week!
I'm so excited for you Ren!!!
Oh wow, sounds great! KUP on his arrival date! Does he have a name yet?
thanks girls We were expecting a chunky monkey since Maddi was pretty big and there was no reason for it (like GD etc) besides genetics and a well functioning placenta but the poor girl doing the scan was certain she was going something wrong and tried desperately to make him seem smaller, it was really quite comical since we weren't stressed about it.
Names Have been a nightmare! We have been struggling to find a boy name we agree on but we have finally settled on one of two (for now ). Either Brennan John or Rhys John, leaning towards Brennan today.
Ohhhhh names! I'm impressed and a big improvement on Sam's other suggestions
Wowie!!! What a healthy whopper. I love Brennan too, thats a lovely name.,
Yay on coming up with names! Is Rhys pronounced like Reese? I never heard of it before.
We have scheduled our c-section for Friday 1.25.08! I have one last appt on tuesday and then the c/s friday. Unless I go into labor or run into a problem of course!
Yeah same pronunciation as Reese I think it's a Welsh name.
Oh wow you must be getting so excited now! only a few days to go! I hope everything goes really smoothly for you and baby is a good size and healthy Stephanie. Do you guys have any names yet or are you waiting until you see him?
What beautiful names! Im so excited for you both!
Well the 15th feb is the big day! unless he decides to show up to the party early
Thanks Lauren, I hope so too! We do have a name, but we are waiting until we see him to be sure. I have a few reservations about it, but we both like it for now. We are keeping the baby name book from the library until after this weekend
Congrats on Feb 15th, it sounds like a great birthday!
Not long for either of you! I can't believe it, I remember you announcing your BFPs and I was still preggo then too hehe!
I'm getting contractions every 10 minutes  I just know I will still be wondering if this is the real deal when I go in for the c/s on the 15th but I can't help hoping he'll come on his own before he gets too big (and that he's fully cooked of course!). I don't know what to think at the moment.
Oh Lauren, how are you and baby feeling? How is Maddi feeling about the new arrival? Is she sensing the change?
Who is watching Maddi when you go to the hospital?
I'm just trying to keep you busy while you wait....lol
lol Jennie, thanks, I could use the distraction, still hanging in here ugh. I feel sore and tired, still nauseous, if he way baby is jumping around is any indication he still feels wonderful glad someone does! Maddi is doing really well, she keeps coming over to me and telling my belly "hello baby brother, I love you, come out! come out!" hehehe too much time around mummy and daddy it seems She will most likely be with my mum since she is closest and can leave work the easiest, if not her then sam's Dad since he works in a shop and can just close up if necessary.
Somebody get this kid outta me it has been a whole week of regular contractions. I get the feeling it is false labour but pretending to be the real thing- ie. regular, getting closer and more intense, don't change no matter what I do but not DOING anything for me, at least nothing fast. I have all the early labour crap (diarrhoea and nausea, insomnia etc.) I sorted through all the baby clothes and have started washing everything and really just want everything all ready to go but I am getting really tired of this. I don't want to go back to the hospital just to sit around for hours on end waiting. All they could do is hook me up to the monitor to confirm I am having contractions (yeah well derr) and an internal to see if they're doing anything but then I am stuck sitting around waiting for things to progress since they can't induce me and obviously we don't want to go ahead with a c/s so early unless it is necessary. I am not planning on going back in unless my waters break and I know they're going to do something (so let's hope that happens before I am 10cm dilated or he might become a home birth ). Ugh things are never simple.
:bigarmhug: I really think that things are moving on. I know it's easy for me to say so, but I feel they are. You can do this!!!
Oh Lauren, I hope he comes out for you soon! I just got my staples out from the c/s, and I am really hoping you won't have to have one Come on (not so) little boy, we want to see you!!
oh me too stephanies (hehe that sounds funny) thanks for the support, I give him until 4pm to start moving then I start poking
lol. What about a bit of fit ball bouncing?? or a big fat walk??? ooorrrrrrr you could 'go there' and DTD!!!!
we even got that desperate steph! and oh what a sight that would have been for a fly on the wall, big as a whale and having a contraction every 3 minutes does not make for the best mood or ease, trying to find the most comfortable position was hilarious (there's tmi- you can thank me later for that mental image ) and I don't think it helped all that much. We're painting his room today, seems to be making the contractions feel a little more serious so here's hoping, of course he would choose now while I am covered in paint and hot and sweaty to say "hospital time!" not that I would be complaining.
okay I suspect this is the final update before the 15th. We went back to the hospital and on the monitor. Contractions are coming right on top of each other (hence I was having so much trouble timing them) and doing absolutely nothing for my cervix. Baby is still quite high (knew that) and the contractions are probably due to the large amount of fluid I have. So after two minor breakdowns (one before going to the hospital and one after being told that it actually is doing nothing) I am just going to have to deal with the fact that I will be in pain and feeling nauseous for the next two weeks before a repeat c/s. Thanks for your support ladies I appreciate it.
If they scheduled your c/s why are they making you wait? (pouting) You poor thing.....I'm getting impatient too! lol
:bigarmhug: He'll be here in no time Lauren. Sending lotsa love your way.
How about a knitting needle? Break those waters yourself!!!
KIDDING OF COURSE, but you know that
Maybe the contractions will put enough pressure on the water to break and then bring his head down?
hehe Anna great minds think alike... I thought crochet needle.... hmmmm
apparently there enough fluid that they'd be really worried about things like prolapsed cord so no breaking of membranes until his head is in the hole he's definitely moved down but not enough.
Jenny- Doc wants him as close to full term (ie. 40 weeks not the usual 37/38 )as possible before doing a c/s just to be sure those lungs are developed and I get that but it's so frustrating waiting when these contractions hurt!
Lauren, just remember how miserable I was. I honestly felt like it would never end. Here I am with a beautiful 3.5 month old baby (how did THAT happen?!) and it's all going much too quickly. I know it's hard, but enjoy those few mins in between contractions, savour every kick. He'll be out VERY soon!!!
Ditto to Anna's post!!!
Easier said than done ladies, there are no "minutes between contractions" they are quite literally coming right on top of each other, it's like a muscle spasm and constant cramping that to top it off makes me feel like throwing up. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning but I doubt he's going to do anything for me.
It isn't too much longer Lauren. You're NEARLY there!
