Has anyone tried citrus fruits with their bubs? I am worried it will still be too harsh for Ronin's system but it's winter and not a lot of fruit variety (and because of cyclones and floods even less affordable variety) and he refuses puree so any fruit has to be soft enough for him to self feed or can be cooked and hold it's shape a bit. I just feel like he has to be getting sick of pears.
not yet. he has had tropical fruits but i don't know why i havn't given citrus yet. He hasn't had any reaction to dairy, eggs or strawberry...i think i am going to get some next shopping trip and try.
Yep. Aiden loves lemons (weirdo) and mandarin orange slices. In fact, the kid thinks oranges are the best food ever. I figured at some point I'd have to bite the bullet on these, so I introduced them while I was at home and there wasn't much food variety there (my parents tend to pretty much only eat foods that come prepared out of the freezer which I mostly wouldn't let Aiden eat). The lemon happened at a restaurant. One of my college friends thought it would be funny and she gave him a lemon slice without the seeds. The funniest face was hers, not Aiden's, cause Aiden thought it tasted fantastic! lol.
Teagan will chew on lemons and limes as well. But only if she's stolen one off your drink. I've tried to give her orange slices and grapefruit. No go.
Gave Odin some taste of orange yesterday and today and everything seemed good.
Anyone ever made Kale chips? I think I'm going to try it out and see if Odin will eat it. Basically just Kale sprayed with a little olive oil and some salt and then baked until light and crispy. I might do a no salt one for him and see what he thinks.
I've seen those at Whole Foods but I didn't buy them because they had some sort of nut oil on them. I hadn't thought to make them myself. I bet the monkey would gobble them up!
Yeah, saw the ones at the store with cashew oil. Not sure what that is about?
Just sharing, we were given a dozen small eggs from people I know who have chickens ( these are from silky chickens or something like that) anyway they are perfect for a boiled egg for Ronin, however when he eats them I'm not sure where to start cleaning up
