Lucas isn't outright refusing purees, but once i started giving him some things to hold and eat for himself he loses interest really fast and tries to grab the spoon and just makes a huge mess lol. since the purees are almost gone i have just been giving him stuff. Joy, I have given him avacado slices, banana chunks, peach slices, and bread. the peach slices you just slice thin and they are really easy for him to gnaw on and if he bites a piece off it is thin enough he doesn't choke. I tried giving him the kamut puffs and because they are small pieces i don't think he relizes he needs to chew them so he gums them for a second and then tries to swallow it. every once in awhile i try giving it to him to see if he has gotten the hang of it yet.

It took a little while for Teagan to get the hang of the Kamut puffs. I tried rice puffs first but she did the same sort of thing Lucas did because of their size. We did softened cubes for such a short time that I don't really have any other ideas for for. She really eats anything now. Last night she ate tortilla chips and helped me with my burrito. I was a little worried about the tortilla chips but she handled them like a pro. We've discovered that she doesn't really care for sweet things such as fruit (and some cupcake frosting DH slipped her ). WEIRD! It's totally freaking DH out. He's like, what if she doesn't like her birthday cake?! I told him we should count our blessings that we have a child that will eat her veggies and worry about treats later .

LOL at DH worring she won't eat her birthday cake.

Peaches are almost ready here (we even have our own trees) so I'll totally be trying those soon. Scoured farmer's market a few towns over today and picked up some blueberries, cherries, and figs. He loved, seriously loved, the fig! I just pulled off the outter skin and chunked the soft inside. Its a little stringy but he did great. Next time I'll give it to him whole. Also tried some corn kernals at a bbq tonight. Not a fan of those I think because of the skin. Still a few more weeks till corn is ready here so when it is I'll try the whole ear instead. I think after a few weeks of practice he'll be able to work the firmer solids and anything will go.

Aiden eats whatever I give him these days. Tonight he had 2 green beans, few bites of meatloaf, 2 strawberries, a teething biscuit, and a handful of puffs. For lunch he had peach slices, cherries, grapes, couple of bites of pork BBQ, and a strawberry. This kid has really taken off with food recently. He'll sit in his high chair and seriously eat for a good 30 minutes (so no throwing food on the floor, etc). I think part of it is because it feels so nice to his poor gums. He prefers cold food like fruit.

Sophie likes green olives, probably because of how incredibly salty they are She's eating a lot of what we eat now. Pasta's and all that... She LOVES seafood pasta and cold crab salad. We tried scrambled eggs and she ate them all up too, without any problems!! Not that I expected there to be but still... She's had cheese slices as well... She seems to really have the hang of gnawing on food when it gets into her mouth...

Ronin loves cheese slices. I will often give him one when he is being a bit difficult while I cook dinner. Last night I gave him one while I cooked and it went all over the room, but he was entertained and I got tea cooked.

If he has got the hang of chewing stuff up you could 1/2 or 1/4 them depending on how big and firm they are. I've been pitting them and then just pulling them apart into a few pieces. Odin still has a hard time with firmer things so I pull each one into like 1/8 ...lol.

Teagan's been refusing just about everything but cheese, pasta, and rice. So, she's a little constipated. I've tried everything to get her to eat some fruit, including hiding it in cheese. She will eat fruit if it's store bought puree, the kind in the squeeze pack . So, I'm going to try pureeing fruit again. I picked up some less sweet fruit as my bizarre child doesn't like sweets. Anybody know what to do with figs?

Nope never had them. Isn't it strange we will often try things with our babies we haven't tried before. I make cheesy pumpkin polenta bites last night ( my Mum rang and thought I was in the middle of tea and asked what we were having, she was very impressed by my steak, polenta, corn and beans meal).
