YES
NO
I have never taken a blue dye test.
First of all (((hugs))) I am so sorry.
Now, I think there is something to this. We have had many reports of false ESPECIALLY on the *trusted* FRER, which is SO scary because really, those are the "go to" tests.
I believe it was White Wolf (hope I am right?) that mentioned that there is a small false rate for women who are over 40 with the "early test" FRER. that was several months ago. So....I am wondering if they have simply dropped the detection rate TOO low on their tests now?
May be time for a poll!!!
Thanks for the hugs.My two false tests were dollar store tests. I have pics and everything but they were clearly positive. I even took the last one with me to the doctor and he and the nurse both said it was obviously positive. I did not have a chemical though and I never got another positive even on the same test so...a total false. I don't they're as rare as the test companies like you to think.
I'm so sorry you had to experience that. I had a false + on a dollar store test, too. It "looked" like it was VERY positive, the line came up right away, but upon closer inspection, the line was a little thinner than usual and didn't look quite right. So I took another dollar store test right after that using the same pee, and it was clearly negative. It's crazy. I very rarely test early anymore, I'd rather wait to see if AF is going to show first. If the blessed day ever comes that she doesn't show, I will take that as my first sign that I 'might' be pg.

I'm trying to do this this time as well. I got so depressed after the second false positive that I thought this time I would try and wait until I miss AF or at least until I'm only a day away or something like that instead of testing like crazy and staying depressed because of all the BFNs. I did the same thing with my dollar test. I got the obvious positive and then tested again right away and was negative. I tested the next morning with FMU and it was negative. I also tried an answer and it was negative. I was pretty sure then that I'd been had. Haha. I learned my lesson though. No thinking I'm pregnant unless I get positives on a variety of tests AND no AF!
ok here is a question please really need help....have you ever heard of 14 light false positives ? most were blue dies but different brands and 2 were dollar store pink but the dollar was lighter.
Hi I understand how long ago this post was created but I wanted to share my own personal experience. I am 17 years old, obviously not mature enough to have a baby. I had sex, with a condom but it slid off. I was on birth control but ran out of the prescription so I was not fully protected at that time. Being cautious I took plan b within 48 hours. I had what I believe was my period about two and a half weeks later. It was about five days before my scheduled period, but it was heavy and lasted 6 days so I am assuming it was not implantation bleeding. That was five weeks ago. A few days ago I started getting breast tenderness. I am supposed to get my period tomorrow but don't have any cramps or signs like I normally do. I was paranoid so I bought a pregnancy test today. It was an off brand test with blue dye. When I tested it showed a very very faint positive line. Only visible when it's held up close, it almost appears to be a shadow. I freaked out of course and went home and waited an hour and took another. It was also a blue dye blue and came out negative. I waited another two hours and bought a pink dye test, it was without a doubt negative. I just now, three hours later, took another pink dye test and it was negative. I saved one of the tests and plan on taking it tomorrow or the next day. I firmly believe I received a false positive from using the blue dye test. I strongly recommend using a pink dye test because I'm almost 100% positive I am in fact not pregnant.
Ok I've been having pregnancy symptoms for the past 3wks to a month maybe a lil longer. I've been extra sleepy, going to the bathroom several times a day, nausea, tender breast, cramps, etc. I bought a pregnancy test yesterday and a faint positive line showed up. I've been reading the blogs and I think I already know the answer to my situation lol. I do plan on scheduling an appt. with a doc to get some confirmation. I , just like several of you, feel like if the test isn't accurate they should definitely get rid of them. Its very hurtful to the women who want to get pregnant to get a false result like the blue dye test gives. I never knew anything about the results of these blue dye tests until looking them up today.
I have an image of the test. One test , two images. I just dont know how to load the picture.
