I'm 26, and married my DH Heath on March 8, 2008. We have been actively TTC #1 for close to 2 yrs. I have PCOS and my DH has low morphology (only 1%). So, it has been a battle to say the least. We tried Clomid for several months, but I still never O. We've done three rounds of injectables. The first ended in a chem pg. We had decided that if this round didn't work, we were going to be taking a very long break.

But here I am! I am thrilled beyond belief. Now that we've seen the ultrasound and heard the heartbeats, we're sharing it with the world! :)

~Sharing the News~

All of our family (besides us) drinks coffee every morning. So we decided to buy coffee mugs for our parents, as well as for my brothers to share the news. (Heath is an only child.) We made our rounds the night we got the news to give them out. After opening their gifts, it took his parents a little bit to realize what it meant. But when they did it was awesome!

My oldest brother did a double look at the mug, beamed at us and asked "Really?!" He says he's ready to be an uncle to teach them how a horse bites corn. (For those of you who might not know, he's referring to pinching their knees).

I had to leave the gift for my other brother and had him call me when he got home and opened it. He said he'd been having a really bad day, but that we just made it all better. :) He is really big into self defense, and says he's gonna start teaching them young everything he knows.

My mom and dad knew that we had an appointment for blood work, since it was 2 weeks after our IUI. Therefore, I had to call them after we got the news. When they got their mugs, my mom washed them immediately so they could use them the next morning. They are SO ready to be grandparents!

Now that we've seen the heartbeats, we shared it with the rest of the world. I made a post on Facebook of the ultrasound picture and updated my profile status telling everyone to wish Heath a "DOUBLE- Happy Father's Day".

~Milestones~

May 11- Trigger Shot. Breasts have been sore ever since.
May 12- IUI
4 Weeks- Started getting REALLY hungry, began feeling a bit queasy throughout the day, and have been cramping off and on almost constantly.
5 Weeks- Had a night FULL of vivid dreams! Also experienced my first dizzy spell and case of all out nausea. Beginning to be turned off by the thought of food at times. Began to have mood swings.
6 Weeks- Nausea has gotten worse. I'm very bloated and beginning to feel uncomfortable in my clothes. 1st ultrasound. Breast tenderness is easing up a bit.
7 Weeks- Nausea was better on some days. By 7w5d it was worse than ever. Breast tenderness is gone. 1st appt with Dr. Stella. Bought a Bella Band, and my first maternity dress- to wear to a wedding July 10, (ended up not wearing it... My belly looked cute in the dress I did wear. :) )
8 Weeks- B vitamins are helping me feel better.
9 Weeks- B vitamins no longer enough for m/s. Used Phenergan once. Vivid dreams continue.
10 Weeks- Trip to Houston for my cousin's wedding. Felt really great over the weekend. Had my first official "odd" craving- water with lemon. M/s came back in full force.
11 Weeks- 2nd ultrasound. Good days and bad days...
12 Weeks- My waist is now 4.5" larger than pre-pregnancy. More good and bad days. Going from one extreme to the other. All-day m/s has been gone for 1.5 weeks.
13 Weeks- Beginning of 2nd Trimester! First time I've had a day where I didn't feel sick without the help of medication.
14 Weeks- Good days out-weighing bad days. Think I might have felt movement!
15 Weeks- 3rd ultrasound. They each weighed 4 oz. First time to eat all of my lunch and dinner without getting sick! More breast tenderness. My belly now looks like I'm pg and not just fat. :)
16 Weeks- M/s mostly gone! My tummy is REALLY starting to pop!
17 Weeks- Repeat of week 16. AND-- we bought a new car so we can fit all of the baby stuff, as well as groceries.
18 Weeks- Those flutters I've been feeling were most definitely baby movement! Baby B has been very active, and I felt Baby A for the first time. Began to paint the nursery.
19 Weeks- Found out genders! Baby A is a Girl! Baby B is a Boy! Names: Alaina Claire and Aiden James.
20 Weeks- Began to feel the occasional kick! DH thinks he might have felt movement.
21 Weeks- DH definitely got to feel Aiden kicking!
22 Weeks- DH definitely got to feel Alaina kicking! He has also started to talk and read to them, so they'll know his voice. :) We got to watch Aiden moving and kicking by watching my belly! :)
23 Weeks- "Honey Bunny" (My mom), and their Uncle Robbie got to feel Aiden kicking!
24 Weeks- Both babies' kicks are getting stronger.
25 Weeks- We've decided that Aiden is trying to turn. He likes to ball up on my right side.
26 Weeks- Just getting bigger. :)
27 Weeks- Both babies have turned... Their heads are just under my left rib cage.
28 Weeks- It's getting to be more difficult to move around. I've been feeling rather drained this week.
29 Weeks- More of the same from last week. My abs have definitely split too.
30 Weeks- My ankles are definitely starting to swell, as well as a my hands a little bit. Everything wears me out, and I have to sit down most of the day.
31 Weeks- More of the same... :D
32 Weeks- Was on bed rest for 3 days due to excess weight gain/swelling. Dr. Stella is thinking about putting me on steroids next week.
33 Weeks- 8th u/s-- babies look great. Steroid shots on Dec 22 and 23. Pre-term labor starts.
34 Weeks- Diagnosed with pneumonia and pre-eclampsia. Babies born via c-sec Dec 29, 2010 at 34 weeks 5 days.

~Appointments~

May 26- 1st beta: 429
May 28- 2nd beta: 956
June 14- 1st u/s: It's TWINS! Heart-rates are 118 and 123 bmp.
June 23- 1st appt with Dr. Stella: She's Great!
July 16- 2nd u/s: Still Twins! :) Heart-rates are both in the 150's. Measuring at 11w2d-- First EDD. But we're sticking with Feb 4 since it's so close.
August 13- 3rd u/s: Both twins doing great! They each weighed right at 4 oz and were VERY active!
September 10- 4th u/s: Everything is great! They were both very active again, and weighed 10 oz. Baby A is a Girl! Baby B is a Boy!
October 8- 5th u/s: Still going strong. Babies were just starting to wake up, so they were a little sluggish. Alaina weighed 1 lb 4 oz, and Aiden weighed 1 lb 6 oz. Heart-rates were 148 and 147 bmp.
October 29- Routine Dr's appt: So far so good-- glucose test in 3 weeks
November 5- 6th u/s: Alaina weighed right at 2lbs 5oz with a heart rate of 147bmp. Aiden weighed right at 2lbs 7oz with a heart rate of 140bmp. They've turned, but in the wrong direction. :/ They are laying diagonally across my belly with their heads under my left ribcage.
November 19- Next Dr's appt/GD test: Appt went well. My blood sugar was 143. It should have been 140 or below, but Dr. Stella says she will periodically test during the next few appts instead of doing the 3 hr test.
December 3- 7th u/s: Alaina weighed 4lbs 3 oz, and Aiden weighed 3 lbs 15 oz. One had a heart rate of 140 and the other was 138. They both have hair! :)
December 10- Unexpected Dr's appt: On bed rest for at least 3 days due to excess weight gain/swelling.
December 10- Unexpected Dr's appt #2: Bed rest lifted
December 17- Next Dr's appt: All is well. Dr. is thinking of giving me steroid shots to help with babies lung development sometime next week.
December 21- 8th u/s: Both babies are looking great. They are both estimated to weigh 5 lbs, 2 oz.
December 22- First steroid shot and non-stress test for babies to be done at the hospital.

So happy to be here! My name is Rae, DH is Wes and we have 1 dd, Lola, who is 3. We've been trying for #2 since last August and were beginning to get frustrated, but then I finally got my BFP on May 23rd at 11 dpo.

7w 1d ~ After a very scary trip to the ER because of pain and spotting, we found out the baby is healthy and measuring 2 days bigger than my calculations, but DD was the same way, always measuring bigger. Heart rate is 146 bpm (DD was 144) so maybe that means were having another girl! But they didn't give me any pics of my ultrasound :(

9/14/10 ~ 20 weeks, Big u/s: Its a boy!!!! we are all so excited! Here's some pics of the appt:

How I told DH
I woke up the day I was supposed to be leaving for a weekend trip with the girls. My temp was still way up there, and my cycle had been very confusing. So I figured what the hey, I'll take a test. I peed in the cup, and used an internet cheapie. Low and behold a line popped up. I freaked out, ran to the other bathroom, grabbed the "good" tests. Used a target test, line popped up. Used the digital, "Pregnant" popped up! I ran into the bedroom and jumped on the bed. DH was still sleeping. I said "wake up!" and shoved the digital test in his face. He was like "Huh, wha...?? OH!" It was great. LOL!


Our Story
DH and I met January 2005 online. March of 2007, we found out we were expecting our first little munchkin. November 16, 2007 at 2:22am my little man Jaidyn entered the world. He was perfect in every way. The labor was okay, about 6 hours of hard labor, plus 2 hours of pushing. I was 5cm before I even went into labor. For those interested here is Jaidyn's Birth Story. I was posting under the username laursie03 before, but I was having some issues with it.

So DH, Ty, and I got married April 25, 2010. And started trying for baby number 2 that night. I have had baby fever for about a year before that. My LMP was April 12, so we figured our honeymoon would be perfect time to TTC. My cycle got all screwed up from the stress of the wedding I guess. I got my BFP May 29. I tested because I was getting positive OPK's at night and my temps were really high. I was about to go away for a stagette and wanted to be sure so I could drink. Totally caught me off guard. We think my due date is February 5th, but we'll know after we have an ultrasound. Obviously we are just hoping for a healthy baby. But, this pregnancy is so different this far, I have a gut feeling it's a girl. We shall see.

Lauren's Space

About Us
My name is Lauren and this is my second pregnancy. DH and I met in college and were married in 2005. I am a Human Resources Specialist and DH is an IT Manager. We have a son, Parker who was born in September 2008. We are very excited to be pregnant since we would like our children to be about 2.5 years apart. I had very bad all day sickness throughout my whole last pregnancy and I had a bad recovery after giving birth. I am hoping this time will be better, but I know not to get my hopes up. I am just grateful to be pregnant again. We don’t have a sex preference for this baby, but I would like a girl at some point.

Sharing the News
I already told my best friend so I can talk her ear off instead of my husband’s. The next person I might tell is my boss if I start having the bad all day sickness that I had last time. Other then that we will tell family after the 8 week appointment. I am going to get Parker a shirt that says Big Brother on it and see how long it takes family to notice when we visit them =)
