Oh, Sarah -- how horrible. I have been away from the boards for a while and suddenly realized something had happened, reading the threads.
Though we haven't conversed much, I admired how you were raising Reed, and I imagined that you have such a warm, wonderful family. I can't imagine how you are all feeling right now -- I am thinking of you all, and am heartbroken for you losing Reed so soon. We all here love you and are holding you in our hearts.
I just came back to the boards this am and saw this. My heart is breaking for you and your family. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
I lurk occassionally still and came to the boards and found this thread today.
I am SOOOO sorry to hear about your loss! There are no words I can say to comfort you, but please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!
Oh god, Sarah I am soooo sorry. My heart is truly broken for you. I can't express to you how much. I'll be praying for you all (((((((HUGS)))))))
I believe MissyJ was trying to organize something. I could open a bank account and handle the business aspect of things.
I'm an old time member, coming back. I had to extend my condolences. I am so very sorry.
My suggestion is to NOT do paypal, as they take a big chunk of the money in fees, and they won't waive it for charity, but instead to post a link where one could make a deposit into a bank acct or a trust in his name. Many banks host these types of things, and I don't think there's any fees incurred with each donation/deposit made.
I didn't get to see you post about Reed, but I can tell by the handful of pictures I've seen of him that he was loved very very very very much. Such a tragic story. I am sure the playground will be a nice place for you to go and remember him. I hope you reach your goal soon.
Here are some links I found when I googled "Free Online Donations"
You might check to see if any of these options are better suiting for you. I know as a Paypal acct holder, that when I get pmts of $100+ that the fees can be a bit ridiculous. I know most of your donors will probably not be donating that much, but as you receive the donations, watch the fees pile up. cents to dollars... every bit would count a little bit closer to your goal.
HTH, and again, I am so sorry for your loss

Let's use Paypal for anyone who wants to contribute to the Reed stage/playground.
This method has been set up already by the North Country Fair organization and it works well for people spread across several countries.
PM me if this does not work for you.
