It was great hearing your birth story! Congrats on your little, chubby girl! I know what you mean about labor though. I went from 4cm to complete in an hour and 15 minutes and that was transition basically the whole time. It was super super intense and my water didn't break until I was ready to push. I remember the few contractions I had after my water broke but before I started pushing and wow, I screamed through them because of the intensity of them along with the the fact I needed to push but my dr was telling me not to. You did a great job!

What a great birth story and I can relate to the panic. You did great and I hope Natalie doesn't have reflux issues.

Great story - how long did you stay at the birth center before you headed home?

    Thanks for sharing!

We only stayed at the birth center for 3+ hours. The number one holdup was waiting for my heartrate to get under 100.

I had a rough evening last night, passed some clots and had fresh bleeding. It scared me. My doula and MW reassured me that it was from doing too much too soon. I spent the night with some cramping but doing better now. Taking it very easy today.

Oh, and realized yesterday that I had some level of hemoraging after birth. They never called it that at the time, but it was in my chart (pediatrician mentioned it) and it makes sense based on some postpartum focus on getting the bleeding to stop. Funny how things said in a calm, quiet voice, without using key words (such as hemoraging) can seem a lot less scary or important.

I love your birth story, despite the emotional rollercoaster and PP issues, it sounds like it went really well! Congrats on your baby!

My doula came over today, it was so nice to chat with her and reflect on the birth. It WAS a good birth, I'm just still a little in shock from it. It was so nice to talk and laugh about it all. I love my doula.

I totally understand your feelings about a fast birth. I almost prefer my longer one.

    Your daughter is beautiful!

Sigh. My midwives would like me to get tested for diabetes. They feel that Natalie's weight especially in torso is a classic sign of missed diabetes. I haven't decided. I'm heavy to start with, but every fasting or sugar test I've had in recent years has been fine.

Sorry for the added stress right now. Is there a way to just do a finger prick test over a period of days to monitor that way rather than fasting?
