    Wow! Busy board today!

Marie - I will take any recipes you throw out at me. My first attempt at bread (on Christmas Day) was a whole wheat cinammon raison bread that was inedible. My next attempt was a bread mix - i forget the brand - came with the yeast and all. It was a "health/organic" bread mix, but it had a ton of ingredients. It was really good though. My machine came with recipes, but almost all of them call for "bread flour". I bought some I would prefer to use Whole Wheat instead of the white/enriched type.
With eggplant, I usually go with a brush of oil/balsamic and grill it.

Crystal - that is weird. Istn't it usually the other way around? I hope you find some answers.
That is a very ambitious work out schedule. I'm ashamed to admit if I can get a 30 minute walk/run in 3x this week, I'll be happy.

AFM-I had left over Indian food for lunch. It's not optimal, but it was in the fridge, traveled easy, and I had to get rid of it before it went bad. I followed up with a banana though :O)
Not sure whats for dinner tonight. Have to investigate. I joined a website called The Fresh 20 that gives you a 5 dinner meal plan for the week all using 20 fresh ingredients. I haven't checked my email yet though AND I haven't gone shoppin yet so tonight still remains a mystery.
Sarah - that's great that all your LO's walk to school with you. What a great way to get them used to a more physical lifestyle. It REALLY bugs me when I see all the cars with parents/kids in them waiting at bus stops in the morning. However, not being in those shoes yet, I guess I really can't judge.
It IS really cool to be in such an old city as London. We have nothing like that in NY.

Tasha - I just started leaving at 6 too. ( I used to before baby, then kind of got a little lazy and would leave at 7 instead). I usually don't eat b'fast until I get into work. When I was preggers, my OB would yell at me bc I was getting up at 5/5:30 and not eating until 8 or 9am. So I started taking a snack bar for the ride. BTW - anyone ever hear of LARA bars? They're pricey but have a small, and all natural ingredient list. Highly recommend.

Sarah-Jean- Sounds like you got your firsty day off to a great start. That is awesome that you are walking the LOs to school. It gives you special time with them and exercise at the same time. I love it.

Deirdre- offering to bring a side would not be offensive to me. I love when people offer to help as it takes some of the pressure off me. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE my bread machine, but I had to cut it back since I think I hold onto carbs like crazy. I eat bread, rice, pasta and my weight jumps way up for a few days. Depressing.

Marie- I hope your little guy is feeling better soon. So tell me why dinner is the challenge for dinner?

Tasha- I had slimfast as well. What flavor for you? I had the cappuccino delight. It was drinkable but definitely not my favorite.

Crystal- Definitely start leaving DDs stuff out to give yourself more time. My DSs are 5, 7, and 9 and they get their breakfast without help and pack their lunch mostly without help. We have a list of lunch menus on the fridge (it says pick a sandwich from freezer, then pick a drink box, then 2 fruit, then 1 string cheese, and 1 “special” treat). All 3 kids can read it (pictures for the youngest) and it saves my DH time in the am since they leave the house by 6am so he can get to PT on time. I am SO jealous of your workouts! Send me your motivation please. And one last thing… has your DR checked your thyroid?

AFM- I had a slimfast for breakfast during my commute. I drive in on Mondays to the city and go home on Fridays usually so it was an easy day to get a point. (I guess I get a point, does my slimfast count?) I have already have 1 cup of water and am working on my second one. For snack, I plan on having a banana and then another slimfast for lunch along with a snack size pepperjack cheese slice. Afternoon snack is an orange. For dinner I brought a really yummy salad with chicken, spring mix/spinach leaves, baby tomatoes, mushrooms, cucumbers, pine nuts, feta cheese, and balsamic vinegar dressing. And then my evening snack will probably be popcorn.

I am hoping to get to gym 3x this week, but I am in the last 7 days of my bachelors program so there is no guarantee. So, I made a plan with a co-worker to take a 15 minute walk in the am, 30 minute walk at lunch, and 15 minute walk in the afternoon. I also had my DH show me several exercises he does at PT each morning so that I can do some of those if I absolutely cannot hit the gym this week.

I gained 6 pounds over the 2 wk holiday break at Xmas. I eat great at work, but I suck when I am at home. Hoping doing this with you guys will make me accountable.

Deirdre I'm going to check out that website, that sounds fantastic. I'm not much of a recipe user but I like getting inspiration from them! It is weird and it is normally the other way around, I also lost weight while preg with my DD. I was down more than 20lbs until the last 2 or 3 months then gained about 18 back. Came out of the pregnancy 45 lbs lighter than I was going in!

Kim my thyroid always comes back as 'within normal range' I've had it tested 3 times in the last year! My doc suspects a hormone problem but nothing has come back abnormal.

My PCP always said my thyroid was normal too, but the Dr who did my tubal reversal did the more extensive testing said we would never get pg with the way my levels were. I feel blessed to have found this Dr.

Kim - Thanks that's good to know, I'll mention that next time I see my doc!

Had to scratch the gym for tonight, my mother isn't feeling well which means no sitter I'll have to do some power yoga and shoot for tomorrow night instead.

Dinner tonight ended up being salad with warm mushrooms and peppers (sauteed in a touch of EVOO, and some white wine) mmmm so good! I'm not a dressing eater so I'm usually adding sauteed mushrooms and/or some brie to my salads with limited guilt!

Phew! I'm shattered now girls. It's 9:55pm here and the time I'd normally be logging on to chat and post, but I'm knackered so I think I might go to bed now and catch up with all your posts tomorrow morning. Feel like I've been on the go all day so far, walking the kids to and from school, then we went for a walk around a local lake to us which was 1.5miles and stopped to feed the ducks, geese and swans... Plus the housework. I don't think I've been this active in many years! LOL

I'm sorry if I've missed replying to anything, but I literally finished cooking dinner, ate, put kids to bed, prepared their school lunches for tomorrow, laid the breakfast table ready for the morning, came and sat down to chat to you all and am actually having trouble staying awake, so I'm going to go to bed now and I'll catch up with you all in the morning!
