Alright, are you having anymore kids? :)

So I like this question because I love ALL the large families and love to see what you say!!!

Hubby and I have decided that we are good with 5 and I wil be getting the tubal done, I am happy and sad at the same time but he says it's time to move on to the next chapter of our life. He is almost done with Law School and we want to buy a house and settle down! So 7 is our family size and we are happy!

I am so done. So is DH. So we are a family of 7 as well! And I will probably be getting the tubal while in the hospital too. I'm nervous about it b/c I'll probably deliver vaginally(no prior csections) and I'm scared of being cut in the belly and the soreness after. But it makes the most since to do it while in the hospital already.

My ob will not do a tubal the same time as delivery unless your getting a c-section which I have never had so I will have to go 6 weeks after the baby is born to get it. I could get the Iud but than I might change my mind and I don't think hubby will Smile

Amanda, Tubal ligation is usually done as "band-aid surgery", which is but a short laparoscopic procedure, sometimes done with an overnight at the hospital. It truly was a "nothing" event in my case. No pain AT ALL, a tiny unnoticeable scar below the belly button.

We don't know... My Dr wants me to have or at least seriously consider a hysterectomy... I feel like I'll want another one once my kids are all at school full time and things have settled a bit for us. I've got the mirena at the moment, so I have plenty of time to decide one way or the other.

We always said 6 would be our absolute max and also that I wanted to be done having babies by the time I'm 30 (I'll have 3 months to spare after this one is born!). So, yes, this is it for us Smile

So maybe doing the iud will give us 5 years to really think about it instead of going with the tubal? My ob said the tubal was a same day surgery no over night.

We've said were done after the last three Lol But we know there's at least one more out there for us, just not sure if baby will come through us or adoption. For now the plan is for me to get an IUD (copper, the mirena experience wasn't pleasnt) and then decide in a few yrs if we are indeed done.

Hi Amanda! Why doesn't DH just get the snip instead of you having to go through surgery? At least his is an outpatient procedure that only takes about 30 minutes and no down time. Your stay is only 24 hours after baby is born witha normal vaginal birth, and who knows how many more days will be tacked on if you do a tubal? Just wondering, as DH will be getting the snip since I'm the one who has to go through the pain of labor and delivery!!

This will be our last baby (obviously, from the posting above lol). Between the two of us this will be our sixth child (we're a blended family) and that's enough for us! It kind of makes me sad knowing that I'll never be pregnant again, but I think 4 pregnancies is enough on my body lol!

I tried Mirena too. I ended up going into a "mini-labor" and my uterus expelled it!! My ob/gyn said my uterus only wants babies in there LOL.

I bounce back and forth on this all the time. I just don't know...

I am struggling with this issue right now. We had said we were done before #6 was born. However, I have had a pretty strong feeling since he was born that there is another one. Dh even had that feeling just a short time ago. We are financially stable enough that having another isn't concern, but I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the whole idea of being pregnant again and having SEVEN kids. I feel like my life is already crazy as it is. One day I am all for having another and then the next I am so overwhelmed with what I have now that I can't even imagine another one. If we do decide to have another I think we will probably end up TTC soon so that we can be done sooner rather than later.

I don't know. lol. Smile I do know dh is more ready to be done than I am. Smile And I don't think I am ready for another really soon, if at all. 4 kids is keeping us so busy, and twin toddlers are not a whole lot less work than twin infants, and 3 in diapers is too much for me. Wink But I don't feel completely done either. But I have had 2 miscarriages and I don't know if I can do that again mentally. And ttc is not easy for us either, and though I love my twins, I do not want twins again, so no clomid, either naturally or no baby (that is what I say now, if I really want another I may change my mind when it is not happening lol). Smile And the twins and my 6yr old ds were very traumatic pregnancies. DS I had placenta previa and hemoraged every few weeks, very very scary, esp for dh. And I did 6wks of bedrest, 1 in the hosp to have him at 36wks. I did 8wks of bedrest with the twins, 4 in the hospital and had them at 36wks. I think that has been scarring to dh and my older kids, so I have to take that into consideration when deciding to have more. I guess we shall see. Wink

We'd like one more. Probably through adoption, although we are NTNP right now.
