Hey Sarah, thanks for asking! We are now living in our new house full time. We rented a uhaul truck and moved most of our stuff.... who knew we had so much! I am not that good at decorating so - for now the walls and shelves are bare. I will decorate some time. We spend a lot of time outside, swimming, jumping on the trampoline, playing in the creek, getting better at badminton... camp fires.
We also had many visitors over. We love it here, but if it had been a few days since their friends visited, the kids start feeling sad. We did try to go to the local park a few times and played with other kids, but until school starts, we have to rely on their old friends visiting us. Thankfully they don't mind!!!
Since the start of the summer, we already had 3 ER visits, making this the most eventful ( in the bad way) summer ever. First our son Julius got hurt on his friends bike ramp (3 days before we were supposed to move) , he got 5 stitches to his abdomen ( handlebar stabbed him) that morning DH broke out in awful case of poison ivy ( but I still love that name ) and I took him in to the same ER that I just returned from... yesterday Kasia ( DD 8 years old) stepped on a rusty nail that went right through her flip flop. So that was the third visit.
I would like some peace and serenity now !

Oh, Erica- thank you for the WASHER and DRYER recommendation- I LOVE them!!! OMG- I went from 3 or 4 loads a day to 1 or 2!!!!!! They are beautiful and fun ( the sounds and lights) ! My DD Karolina ( 11) reminded me to thank you!

A little TOO eventful Asha! But the kids will all adjust to the new style of home life.

I feel badly for your DH and hope things are improving for him. Did they put him on antibiotics for the poison ivy? He'll need to be careful about getting it again. You can get it badly even before the leaves show up in spring. Lots of gardeners who weed in early spring get severe cases. UGH!

I bet lots of friends and family will have ideas to help you personalize your house...maybe just paint colors and curtains. No rush though! Just enjoy the great space.

Sounds like things are on par with a new home situation.

Sorry about the poison Ivy. I assume your DH is on anti-histamines (extra strength benadryl!). Those really knock me out. Also, every time you get it it will be slightly worse. I've had it several times and terribly.

As for prevention, there's this stuff you can buy called Ivy Block and it is WONDERFUL. If you know you will be exposed to poison Ivy, you put it on first, and then it reacts with the poison Ivy and prevents a reaction. Amazing and I can attest to the fact it WORKS.

I've also stepped on my share of nails (and not told my parents) when I was little. You learn to keep your eyes open and wear shoes (and to pick them up when you find them).

Sounds like a wonderful time, and that your kids will begin to start getting used to being away from all their friends and playing with each other.

On Saturday morning we cut all the branches out from under our spruce tree in the front yard. Now the branches just reach down to the ground and there's a great little tree fort underneath where we put some camp chairs. The dog loves it and the kids have their little fort where they can peek out and spy on the neighbours! Building tree forts and exploring the creek, catching frogs, identifying birds (by sight and song) and frogs, etc... will be great fun activities for the summer - that and climbing trees, growing some beans, and all sorts of other fun things!

    OY! I meant anti-histamines!

DH paid the kids $1 per nail that they brought him. They found so many that he had to change the reward amount! But it did clear up the property, especially after a new roof was installed. Kids usually already have tetanus shots..and they last 10 years. Adults are the ones with the problem of remembering when they had their most recent shot.

Yay Asha! Glad you are enjoying your new home. Sorry about the ER visits, you should be good for another 10 years, right? I love your new siggy pic. They are growing too fast! Glad you like your new washer & dryer, always glad to share something that has made my life easier! So sweet that your DD reminded you to thank me! Do you find that the whole load has to be divided into 2 baskets? I had to go on Amazon and find bigger baskets to hold the clean load! LOL

OMG- YES!!! I was going to say that now I need bigger baskets for clean laundry I have two big baskets and 6 regular sized ones, needles to say, I mostly use the big ones. But what a difference it makes in the dirty laundry not piling up anymore! It still amazes me that I can put so much in- I sound like a nerd, huh?

SARAH- sorry, my photos still live in the camera! darn, I must upload them!

Sounds good... I'm trying to be patient!

But I guess I can't complain too much since I haven't posted any photos of my belly either!
