    Default Back from Florida

I know you all probably saw my profile picture. We just got back from a one-week trip to Florida, including a 3-day pass to Disney, provided by Make a Wish. We stayed at Give Kids the World, which is a really awesome place. I feel so blessed that we were given this opportunity for Isaiah's wish, because there is no way we could ever afford to get the 7 of us down to Florida, let alone spend a week at a resort and 3 days at Disney. We also got to see the kids' grandmother. It was her first time meeting the adopted kids, and she hadn't seen the others since Thomas was a toddler. The weather was gorgeous! It was mid 80s and sunny during the day and lower 60s at night. We took tons of pictures. I will have to post some of them when I get a moment to breathe. It was just what we needed, though, a chance to regroup and re-connect as a family. The little ones don't quite understand why we can't just go back at the drop of a hat, though.

I didn't know you had a special needs kid. How awesome that they have that program. Glad you all had a good time!

Yeah, Isaiah has a movement disorder. Back in December he was given the wrong meds by the pharmacy and had a huge down slide. Now, he needs to be on meds every 4 hours, even at night. We have overnight nursing and have to give him meds through a feeding tube while he sleeps. He also has an aide during the day to help him out at school. He went from being able to walk and talk and ride a bike with training wheels to barely being able to say a word or walk a few steps without help.

I love Make a wish for what they do! It is one of the two charities I feel confident to donate to. It looks like you guys had a great time!!! I am so happy that it was a memorable trip!

I'm so glad you got to go! Looks like all the kids had fun, and a nice bonus to see some family as well!

I am so sorry about Isaiah being given the wrong meds, just so scary!
