Wink Blimey it's quiet in here!

    Where's everyone gone?!

It's been ages since I've been here last, but I was looking for some info for a friend and thought I'd pop in and check on everyone and you've all disappeared!

How are you all? What's new in your lives? Who's pregnant or just had a baby? Who's done and moving on in life? How are the kids?

Oh wow! March is a lovely time of year for a new baby and so nice to have another little girl in the house!

I'm doing OK. My Mirena came out yesterday, so it's back to NFP for us until we decide whether we're going for one more or going to leave it. That's assuming we could even have more.

Other than that Robin is in nursery for half the day and starting full time next September so I'll have no kids at home. We got a Golden Retriever puppy called Chance who is a dream come true. Our house was extended and we're just about to do a garage conversion to make an extra room or two and I'm a partner now in an events company - so it's all good! We even had our first adult only holiday in November, we went on a cruise on the Queen Mary 2. It was a great experience. The only adult only holiday we ever went on was our honeymoon and I was sick and bedridden the entire time!

Seems like life has completely changed for everyone since I was last on pregnancy.org... I was kind of hoping to catch up with everyone, so I'm glad you're here at least!

I check up here regularly, but it's been so quiet lately that I've given up! Good to see others around.

Holly - I posted some baby girl name ideas on the other thread.

Sarah-Jean - good luck with TTC, and if it doesn't happen, try not to be too disappointed. I'm glad the employment situation has worked itself out enough to be able to take a vacation! We managed to go out for an evening together while my parents were in town and it was very odd! It might take a while to get used to it!

We're busier than ever, and DH has been transferred so we are moving away from family and friends. Exciting looking for house and some land, and the prospect of leaving my job that I dislike, being a stay at home mom for a while. Tentative about starting over and losing a salary, but if it's only for a few years while the kids are little, then I think it will be good. Also trepedatioous about DH's new position where he will be away for 2 weeks, and then home for 2 weeks. That, and no support network.

Ivy is precocious as always, and 4.5 going on 7. Leo is catching up, and they are starting to play very nicely together. Forrest is 16mo and getting into trouble but is the happiest little guy and always smiling. I will be happy when he starts sleeping in his own bed, though. Very happy. I hope it's soon!

As for Skyler, well, he's 14.5 and in a very tough spot. He has recently transferred to a school for kids with special needs and seems to be doing better. We will most likely leave him to be with his mother, but have misgivings about that. On the other hand, I think it would be better for the rest of the family as a whole. Difficult decision to make, but I think I'm OK with it now. The situation with him and his mother is even more messy than ever. I hope the move relieves some of the tention.

I'm sorry to hear about the situation with Skyler. That sucks and must be so difficult to know what to do for the best.

Wow on the move though - that sounds like a real adventure! It'll be nice to be a SAHM for awhile I think. I love being a SAHM (with my little bits on the side!) and hopefully you'll be able to build a support network where you're going and make loads of local friends.

I can't believe how quickly all the kids on the board have grown up. Time seems to have flown by! LOL I remember saying about Robin sleeping in our bed at around the same age Forrest is now. I'm embarrassed to say he's turning 4 in 30 days time and he STILL sneaks in with us most night.

I peak in occasionally still We are done, dh had a vasectomy when I was pregnant with #4...never went to get it checked but it's been over 2 years now and I'm not pregnant so I'm sure it worked. Some days I pray just one will make it through and we can have another and other days I am content with being done. I can see the positives of both and honestly I think if we had a #5 I'd want a #6 and who knows after that. We are hoping to buy a lot and build our dream home in the next few years and another baby would seriously delay that. Not to mention #2 is in competitive dance and my oldest is in choir and #3 is going to start soccer this summer and school in the fall...so we are pretty busy with extracurriculars. That said, my younger daughter asks almost daily for a baby sister and I see all these people with newborns and I just miss it so much. I had some religious doubts about getting the vasectomy in the first place so those always sneak in my mind and make me wonder who we would have added to our family had he not had it done. Not helped by the fact that my husband himself now says he regrets it (but is not willing to go through a reversal).
The kids are all doing great though, no major medical issues in the last year (***knock on wood***) other than our first stitches (in baby #4!) last June. I am finally feeling like I am not stressed all the time, just reorganized the whole house in the last few weeks and it feels so nice to have all that clutter gone! We are bringing our older two to Disney World in a few weeks so we are excited about that and finishing up all our planning. After we get back competition season for dance starts up so we'll be busy with that and then Easter which also happens to be #2's 8th birthday this year and then recital and then the end of the school year and the start of summer dance! I have come to the conclusion that life will never slow down That's okay though. When my kids are grown I am positive I will miss the busyness.

It gets so much harder when kids get bigger! A good busy, most of the time, but still busy. We limit our kids to one activity and one music at a time. But I still find it gets herder as you get more that are in extras. Right now we have the older 2 in piano and dd is in gymnastics. Ds did soccer in the fall and is on break now and will do spring soccer. Ds2 is only in K so he has done off and on things--tried out gymnastics, took a break for swimming. He is on break now while baby is coming up on due soon. Then we'll do some more stuff. He really wants baseball, but that one is a lot of time I feel right now.

I hear ya on the busyness! Between dance, basketball, piano, scouts, church activities, and my church responsibilities, we have 1-2 days a week free. And then I want to just do nothing. Lol. My daughter is in ballet 3 now, so it's twice a week, and a 30 min drive, but thankfully we found a new friend to carpool with that is also just crazy enough to drive 30 minutes to the same place. So today I am at home with the boys instead of fighting traffic. that has been such a blessing. I am hoping she will be okay with driving for a month or so after I have a baby, it would be great to have the break, but I guess we'll see.

I'm also doing a preschool co-op this year, as I did with my older two. I basso lay a let o find two other moms to be in our group this year, which four kids is great, but it also means I am teaching preschool at my house every other week. It gets to be a lot with everything else going on. Now I am a little bit worried about what I will do for the boys for preschool next year. I'll be having a baby in August, and they should be starting preschool in sep. I have never paid for preschool, and don't know that we could afford it for two little boys. I am hoping I can still do it with a tiny baby. I did it with twins, but they were born in the middle of the year, so wasn't the whole year, and there were six moms, so it was easy enough to figure out every six weeks, I think I had my mom come a few times to help as well. I guess we'll see.

I nursed my twins for 2years and 2 weeks! A little sad to be all done now.
