Mailed a big Christmas box to the grandchildren this past weekend! What fun! Still a few more things to finish for them, but basically I'm done. Then tonight we entertain DH's class here for dinner, then prepare for a quiet celebration of our own later on. Strange to not be traveling out west this year, but I hope for a trip later on, perhaps when Sarahsunshine returns to work.
How are things progressing at your household? Remember to have FUN and not just shop and get anxious.

As for us, we have not bought a Christmas tree yet. :( We need to do it this week. I do have a few things bought , but still very early on in the process. We did decorate the house a bit!

Super to see more of your property Asha! The weather has been strangely wonderful here too. I think it is great when you can get the kids outdoors running about and exploring for exercise. I remember loving our nativity scene when I was little. My sister and I would set it up each year. Good memories are what makes Christmas special!

Hey, If you can't find a christmas tree, you could plant a whole bunch of them. Put one in a nice place outdoors and you can have a living christmas tree every year, and a bunch in a back area that you could grow for cutting down in 5-10 years time. I know in most places taht there's a spring-time arbor day/earth day event where the government gives away seedlings of various species - Usually in March/April around earth day.

The previous owners used to grow Xmas trees on the property so I wondered if there were any left. I found just two- but it would be a shame to cut them.
We do plan on planting some this spring! And you are right! Last year our children's museum gave away seedlings! Good idea!!
We planted free seedlings a few years ago. We were careful to keep them well watered, more so in periods of drought and before winter sets in. But they have done very well and it is fun to watch them grow over time. We have been here 15 years and so some are very tall now. Perhaps the children would enjoy decorating a tree for the birds, with things like suet balls, popcorn and other things they research
