fundraising for Down syndrome society...and awareness
There is a blog I go to frequently called Enjoying the Small things. It is written by a mom, photographer, and writer named Kelle Hampton about her life. I found her blog shortly after her 2nd daughter Nella was born. To the family's surprise, Nella was born with Down syndrome. Since then I have followed Kelle's blog which always includes such inspirational words, lovely photographs, and just an uplifting and positive message. Last year Kelle hoped to raise $15,000 for the Down syndrome society in honor of Nella's 1st birthday. To her surprise she was able to raise $100,000 for the charity. She was overwhelmed by the generosity and caring of others. Nella is now approaching her second birthday, and Kelle is asking for help again. She is going for 2 for 2. $200,000 for the charity to celebrate Nella's 2nd birthday. Last I looked she was about 40,000 short of this goal with 5 days to go. She has made a video to spread awareness and to ask for help from anyone who can. I do not know Kelle, I do not have a child with Down syndrome, but I have been touched by her blog and her change the world attitude. I am asking everyone to go to her site, read her story of Nella's birth...watch her video...and spread the word! Thanks!! All donations are 100% going to the Down syndrome society...and I did speak with Missy before posting this!! Thanks everyone!! www.kellehampton.com
