Thank you girls... I have up and down days about it. I went to my GP last Friday and she is referring me to a specialist menopause clinic as I am unable to have conventional HRT because of my history of blood clots. I am also being referred to a chest pain clinic and consultant as I have been having very severe angina attacks during the night (they wake me up and are horrendous, each time I'm convinced I'm going to die). I've been given a GTN spray to use which helps a bit, but am pretty scared as my mum had the same problems and ended up needed a triple heart bypass (those of you who have been around a long time might remember me posting about it years ago) at the age of 42... She had the exact same symptoms I do, so I'm quite scared about that right now... Makes the whole menopause thing pale in comparison really.
On another note my little part time Phlebotomy job is going really well... I love my patients and love my job. I was offered what I thought would be my dream job not long ago working as a maternity care assistant but have had to decline as it involves running up and down several flights of stairs and my heart can't do it... I thought I'd be really sad and depressed but actually I am OK with it. I fought for 8 years to get that job and now I've been offered it my health issues have cropped up to the fore again and I can't help but think that my health must always come first. Plus I guess I'd also be really sad to leave my patients that I see every week for a job that although would be very rewarding I'd never see the patients again after their babies were born....
Anyway, sorry I'm rambling! LOL I'm going to go and continue reading the posts I need to catch up on!
