Default Had another trip to the ER

We were away for the night for our anniversary and stayed at a B & B jacuzzi room. It was awesome. But then I started developing abdominal pain. I ended up going to the ER, and they did a CAT scan of my chest and abdomen. They found out that my stomach was mostly residing in my thoracic cavity! I had already had a hiatal hernia, but apparently when I had pneumonia I damaged my diaphragm and my stomach has moved up into my chest. I'm going to require thoracic surgery and very soon. I tell you what, I think I need some normal life pretty soon. Some of you who don't know me might be wondering if I'm for real. I'm wondering the same thing myself some days. But I've been an active member of PO for almost 6 years. I'm not making this stuff up. Anyway, any thoughts and prayers you can offer would be appreciated, I've never had major surgery, so this is pretty scary.

Oh my goodness! You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. And I am also hoping some 'normalcy' comes your way so you can relax and enjoy!

Actually, we did enjoy our night away, or at least most of it. It was a very nice B & B in a quaint little town. We enjoyed a delicious dinner (lobster bisque, stuffed mushrooms, greek salad, filet mignon with grilled peppers and onions with Gorgonzola cheese sauce). We also spent some time checking out an artists' coop with some beautiful stained glass, pottery, sculptures, etc. The hot tub was wonderful, and so was the breakfast. It wasn't till after breakfast that I really started getting uncomfortable and had to call the doctor.

I'm saying many prayers for life to just settle down for you. And having your stomach in your chest does NOT sound like much fun. I'm praying for an easy recovery from surgery! Lots of hugs, Deb!

Oh Deb! I can imagine you are getting sick of hospitals!! ((HUGS)) I hope you get back to normal soon. I know it doesn't make you feel better, but you seem to be handling this all with grace and "rolliing with the punches" so to speak, and that is just amazing with all the kids so I really tip my hat off to you for holding it all together!!!!

I am hoping for normal times soon for you! Get well soon!

    Praying for you, Deb!

P.S. And, I too can attest that she's a real live (wonderful) person. DD and I had lunch with her and Thomas when they were just babes!
