My first "large" family discrimination
I put large in quotes, because I don't think three kids qualifies as large, but I knew you ladies would understand.
My 6 year old has cancer. He has to travel to Boston for 6 weeks for radiation treatment. We are trying to find someplace to stay, besides a hotel (which run from $175-$300 a night nearby since it's right on the expensive part of town, Beacon Hill.)
We have secured housing starting September 9th, but his treatment starts on August 25th. So that's 16 days we have to "fill in" for.
So I called the Ronald McDonald House in Boston. They won't take us because 4 is their maximum number allowed in one room (City regulations). The woman and Ronald McDonald asked if we had to bring all 5 people. I told her that I couldn't very well leave my 1 year old at home....
What do people with actually large families do? I have a good mind to write to the city of Boston for an exception to this rule for medical housing facilities.
