a GIRL!! Our family is so excited! It just feels so good to complete our family with 3 boys and 2 girls that we are happy to call this one our last baby--barring any more surprises DD is especially thrilled! I'll do a copy/paste from what I posted over in feb 14 board in case you want more of the story of the u/s and telling the kids etc.
GIRL!!!!! Our whole family is beyond thrilled!! DD and I especially! She has 3 brothers and this is our last baby--so she is very excited to get her sister! And I'm excited to have another baby girl--and use those cute girl clothes I only used once with dd! Cause honestly, after 3 boys, most of my boy clothes look a little ragged Minus those few new things I had with the last one. And the u/s tech I had was so sweet, she kept going back to make sure it was a girl. I even asked her how many times she had been wrong--she said once. One time she said girl and baby was born as a boy, but she also said that the reason she was wrong is because he had micro-parts? Like physically much more miniscule that ever normal. And that was years and years ago.
She also switched to 3-D for a minute but we never really could get a good view of her face--she kept both arms crossed in front of her face the whole time. Which means the tech didn't get a good view of the lips and nose, so for the standard cleft lip/palate check, they scheduled me another u/s right before my next appointment in 4 weeks to double check that those parts are ok. Which means I get to see baby again before delivery
So last night we blew up tons of pink and blue balloons and stuffed a tiny rolled up strip of paper in each one--the kids actually helped, not sure what they were for. Then I took one of each color and 2 papers--secretly wrote "its a girl" on one and stuck it in the pink one and put a blank one in the blue one. I showed the kids and said one of them had written on it what we were having. I threw them in with all the balloons on the living room floor mixed them up. I said "now go find the one with writing" They had to jump or sit on them all to pop them and find the one that had writing on it. Ds2 found it--he is in kindergarten and still catching on to reading so he saw the writing and was just jumping all over and screaming but he hadn't even attempted to read it!! LOL So then the other kids came over and read it and everyone was jumping all over excited. Even my 5 year old was excited. He had said before he wanted another little brother, but recently had decided he already has 1 little brother and wants a little sister So sweet.
Now for the hard part....names!! We have absolutely ZERO! We were waiting to be able to cut out 50% of the names Glad we cut the boy ones, I was plumb out of boy names
How Fun! Names are always fun...
