Wow. That's a lot! That's what happens when you have teenagers, I hear. When her kids were teens, my MIL was going through 4 gallons + per day. She decided she wasn't going to just keep buying it, so when she ran out, she ran out and the kids had to drink water. Apparently they learned how to ration it out.

I know, Rachel! Seriously, 2 shelves are filled with it and everything else is carefully 'stuffed' into the others!

If I didn't buy it, they would just drink it all and then complain, complain, complain. They don't know the meaning of ration. I think because they are teenagers and brothers but they don't have the mindset to conserve and enjoy, it's more devour now so no one gets 'my share'. Sad but they do this with most things.

My sister and brother used to do the same thing and I would get so mad because I was the opposite.

wow!! we usually go through about a gallon every other day or so during the summer. Mine are still young enough though that I tell them only 2 glasses a day.....breakfast and dinner. They drink water the rest of the time...

I also only serve milk during meals, and only certain meals. I hope I can control it a bit when they get to be older as well! Because that is a lot of milk! We go through about 3 gallons a week.

I am the huge milk drinker here. My kids have a glass or two a day, maybe. But growing up it was rationed for cereal only and sometimes dinner, and well, I love being able to drink it anytime I want, so I do, all day long. I probably have 4 glasses a day. We buy probably 4 gallons a week.

Rachel- DH is just like you! I swear he drinks more milk than anyone in the house but we buy the teenagers skim milk because that's what they like and then we have whole milk. DS#4 also drinks a lot, and loves it!
