Smile I hear the border line-up was at 2 hrs. + at 8 a.m. Yikes!! And they had 9 lanes open, and there are 4 border crossings within an hour of each other here!

I guess it doesn't happen very often that Canada Day falls on Friday and 4th of July falls on Monday, so I'm sure there are some pretty good sales within day trip distance from the borders Smile

Happy 4th of July weekend to all of you ladies!!

 Wow!!! I never think about going up there only because we don't have passports. Otherwise I totally would. Any big plans this weekend?

Thats the same reason why we never think to go to Maine when you guys have big sale events going on lol!

I could hear the fireworks a couple hours ago but I think they're all done now. I'm a little miffed because being on a military base there is always lots of events and celebrations for Canada Day, and this is the second year we've been here, and the second year that DH has been away over the holiday so we haven't been able to do any of the fun family stuff

I hope all you gals south of the border have a good 4th of July! Biggrin

(((Hugs))) I'm sorry DH is away again. Hopefully next year he will be home so you can do something fun as a family.

Get your passports girl!!!! Not that down your way isn't nice, but up here we have lots of cool stuff too Biggrin

We don't have any plans. We went to the local Canada Day festivities yesterday for a while, my sis and BIL met us there, we just ate and walked around, then came home. We vegged lol. Tonight Colin and I are going out, for the first time in FOREVER, just the 2 of us, to a comedy place where you get dinner and a sketch comedy show, it's totally UN-politically correct, but hilarious. Their show this weekend(usually it changes every few months) is "That Dam Canadian Show"- loonies(dollar coins), kooks, beer, and toques. Should be pretty funny Smile

On Monday Colin is going back out of town for the week, maybe longer, to do some work.

Oh- and they just did the border report on the radio- 45-an hour at the big crossing, and minimal at the other 3. Such a crap shoot lol!

DH said passports here are close to $200 now. That would be nearly $1000 for all of us. Totally not doable.

Have fun going out. DH and I haven't gone out in forever either. In fact I don't remember the last time we did. Oh yeah it was to a hockey game and it snowed.

That is crazy! Money is the same reason why we don't have ours, although its not as expensive here. It's around $100 each for adults, and under $50 for kids, but thats still $300 we could use elsewhere in our budget.
