I felt like the day would never come, but I finally got in to see my OB yesterday at 11 weeks, and it was a great appointment! I'm at a different clinic this time because our insurance changed, and they do things pretty differently than the OB I had with my first pregnancy. I wasn't expecting to get an ultrasound at the first appointment, but she did one! It was so fun to see the little bean on the screen wiggling its stubby arms and legs around! And we were able to see/hear the heartbeat too (157bpm). She said everything looked great and I was measuring on time. I'm just so relieved and thankful to know that there's actually a tiny baby in there and all this vomiting isn't for nothing. She gave me a new medicine to try for the vomiting, too, so I'm hoping it helps...today has been a little better. Some days I'm throwing up as often as 6 times, and I just can't cope with it much longer. I gained a few pounds initially and have since lost it and am back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but she said they don't worry about vomiting unless you lose 10% of your pre-pregnancy weight and can't hold anything down.
I would share the ultrasound pics, but we don't have a scanner. And I'm sorry I haven't been posting much. I do still check on here pretty regularly, but I'm just barely making it through the day...sometimes I don't even check my email or respond to phone calls. I do the essentials like preparing food and changing DS's diapers, and that's about it. Can't wait for 2nd trimester when I can get back to everything I usually do!
