Anyone still exercising?

Just wondering if anyone is still keeping active these days. I was going to a prenatal yoga class up until about 34 weeks. These days, though, I feel like such a sloth working from home and the only form of "exercise" I get is when I'm out doing errands (which doesn't amount to all that much). On top of that I usually get BH contractions when I'm walking unless I go really slow.

Wondering if the rest of you ladies are still exercising and how that's going.

Funny you should say that. Smile I was pretty hard core until about 31 weeks then I quit going to the gym because it was starting to hurt. When I described the pain to my dr he said it was the uterus pulling on the stomach muscles and not unsafe but definitely uncomfortable. Since then I have walked on the treadmill a handfull of times. The only physical thing I do now, other than kids and house work, is play tennis. I haven't played in two weeks and I may be done finally, but yeah, my physical motivation is almost non-existent. I am just not feeling it lately!

i'm still going to prenatal yoga once a week, but MAN it is getting so difficult! i know it is important to listen to my body, so i just take breaks when i need to or modify the poses to make them easier for me, even though this is hard on my ego. Wink i want to be able to hold the pose forever like the lady in front of me! i am also going for walks most days, but i am literally only making it around the block most days...20 minutes or so, and i move at a slower and slower pace these days. i don't know if i will get the burst of energy at the end like i did with my first pregnancy, but when i was pregnant with DS1 i went from being a couch potato to somehow finding the stamina for hiking up mountains at 38-39 weeks because i was so motivated to get labor started! haha.

OMG I can barely move, forget about exercise! Since this is my first, how long does it take to feel "normal" after delivery? Like, do you instantly feel better, you can breathe again and stuff, or is it just as gradual as it was getting to feel like this? These last few weeks are going to be rough. I'm uncomfortable standing, I get out of breathe doing any kind of walking (just to the bathroom and back is enough!) and now even laying down is uncomfortable--only sitting feels normal.

@ STAr gazer - hear you. I am so tired all the time now. I do keep doing the ball excercises and stretching, but I get so out of breath so quickly Sad and I am WAY slower. I do go to a walking class once a week with one of my GF's - I get tired when I do it, buit I think it's worth it. When DH and I go shopping he is pushing the cart and is WAY ahead of me, looks to his side and realizes I am not there and stops, he is so not use to going that slow. He had a giggle last night because He says I look soooo pregnant... waddle waddle

i don't know it this is true for everyone, but i really did feel better immediately after birth. i had virtually no pain "down there" despite tearing in 3 places, and the rest of my body felt so GREAT compared to the aches and pains and shortness of breath that goes on at the end of pregnancy. it was amazing!!!

I agree with Amanda, it was pretty immediate for me as well. I had c-sections so I had to be careful of the incision, but I think by two weeks postpartum I was feeling pretty sporty. I plan on going back to competitive tennis by about 6 weeks or less. Smile

Well I'm hoping that I bounce back that quickly as well!

It took me a few weeks to bounce back into my old self after my deliveries. My body, on the other hand, took a long time to lose the baby weight. I have more of a support group now, though, so I'm hoping it will go quicker this time.

As far as exercise? Heck no. Unless you count walking to the fridge and back several times a day. Wink
