Body Wash

Has anyone decided on a body wash yet? I am hearing complaints about CA Baby, so I think that's out. I want to try Hugo Naturals? Any rec's?

I plan to just use good ol' Johnson & Johnson or maybe Baby Magic (I love how that one smells!). If she has skin problems, then I'll use Aveeno Baby or something similar.

I use Aveeno baby because I like how it smells and it makes the girls hair soft and easy to brush.

We'll be using either Aveeno or Aquaphor. DD1 has such sensitive skin and she had eczema as a baby, so I'm just going to assume that this baby will be the same way and use what I know already works. I definitely miss that clean baby smell from the other baby lotions and washes, but fragrance free seems to work better for us.

i like Burt's Bees baby wash and still use it for DS1, and it doesn't irritate his very sensitive skin. but sometimes the fragrance is a little strong for me. i'm gonna try to find something with as few ingredients as possible and fragrance-free...

I got the Aveeno baby wash as a gift so I'm going to start with that. I use Aveeno for myself and love it.

I have a question--in reading infant care stuff, I've seen a few things that say to use plain water for cleaning a newborn--I never heard of that before. Is there a certain time period I shouldn't use wash? I read the same thing somewhere else about baby wipes--that for a brand new newborn, don't use wipes but use plain water and cotton balls. What's up with that?

Just water is fine for a newborn b/c sometimes even the gentle stuff cna be hard on their new little skin. We use cloth diapers AND cloth wipes right from the get go. I just get the cloth wipes wet witha little warm water.

Johnson and Johnson gave my 1st kiddo a rash, probably because of the fragrance. (Then again, looking at him sideways gives that kid a rash). We switched to Aveeno. But plain old Dove soap has worked fine, too.

Newborns don't get really dirty so water works fine. If it weren't for throw up in the neck rolls you may not have to wash them at all. Smile
