So, who do you plan on having in the delivery room with you?
DH and MIL. I would want mom there as well, but they have had a really strict only two policy. My mom was there for both the girls and this will be MIL only chance to see a grandchild born so she gets the pass.
Just me and dh - it's our special time!
Only DH - they only allow one person in the OR. BUT...I will have my mom and my DH with me antepartum. I may allow MIL to substitute in occasionally, as long as she does not talk constantly about "when she gave birth to Eddie." I have heard the same stories 100333505050 times!
How is everyone doing??? I see so many "38 weeks..." Our first could go ANY day!!! AHHH, so exciting!
Just Jason We made the baby by ourselves, we will meet him by ourselves Then the siblings come in and we spend some time as a family before the rest if the hoard comes in!!
DH and my mom. At the birth center there isn't any restriction on the number of people who can be in the room, but I think between my mom, DH and the midwives, that will be enough.
That's our rule of thumb too -- if you weren't there when the baby was made, you can't be there when the baby is born! Besides of course the trained professionals!!
Hahaha. Since mine were IUI babies, I would have a lot of people in the OR. And Ed would not be one ...
That's funny, Heidi!
When Kayla was born, aside from DH I had both my sisters, my mom, and my IL's in the room. With Eric, he came too fast for anyone to make it. This time, being that this is the last grandchild on both sides (DH and I are both the youngest in our families), I kind of want my mom and MIL in the room again with us, but perhaps it should just be us. I'm still debating.
Meg, that was hilarious! And technically this baby was made at my IL's (we were on vacation!!!) so I guess that's another reason she should get to be there.
Just my DH will be there...I'm a pretty discreet person, I don't think there is anyone else that is interested in being there anyway.
Meg, you're too funny! I know for sure my DH and my mom will be in the room and possibly my MIL. It's been that way for all of my deliveries and works out well.
Just DH and me! That is how it as been for the other children as well. It is a nice "close" time for the two of us to experience together. I remember when Luke was born they gave him right to me and we held him together and just sat in awe for a while. It was a feeling I will never forget and I'm so glad I had that moment with my hubby. With Nathan's birth they took him away right away because he was blue due to the cord around his neck. So I didn't get to experience that warm fuzzy feeling with him right away. Hopefully with this third one I will.
