Holy Heart Palpatations!

I have been having these ALL week and I HATE them!!! I looked it up and it said it could be the increase in blood volume AND from progesterone - it just happens that I am also on the progesterone suppositories twice a day so I guess it could be from those two things. I hope I don't have 30 more weeks of this! Anyone else having them?

No, but that sounds kind of scary. Will you be on the progesterone the whole pg?

Oh my! What do they feel like? Did you have them with your other pregnancies?

I think I'll be on the prgesterone until 12 weeks, I will find out at my first appt. on August 18th. I didn't have them with my other pregnancies. Have you ever had heart flutters? It's almost as if the heart skips and beat and then beats again and feels weird - I don't know how else to explain it. I'm going to talk with my doc about it. Maybe my BP meds need to be adjusted or something.

I know I have a healthy ticker because I had a stress echocardiogram done back in February. My body seriously just goes wacky with pregnancy and post-partum. lol

:lurk: from March 2011

I had the same thing happen to me. I would always forget to ask at my appointments about it but the palpitations only happened when I laid in bed on my left side and went away about the 20th week. I had a healthy pregnancy and Jack turned out healthy as well.

I've been having this issue as well but I didn't know what it was from. I hope they go away for both of us!

i had these during the last half of my pregnancy with DS1 whenever i would lay down, but they always resolved within a few minutes, so my dr. said it wasn't anything to worry about. i found that deep breathing helped the palpitations stop. it is a scary feeling, and if i didn't focus on deep calming breaths i would start to panic! and anxiety can make them worse.

I've been having this issue too! I thought I was crazy. But it looks like we'll probably all survive?

Good post, thank you.
