How is your week starting off?

I apparently have too much time on my hands this week and wanted to get people chatting Smile

How is everyone's week going?

This is a SLOW week for me. I have done lots of homework and yesterday cleaned/organized my entire kitchen. I am off work recovering from a surgery so I have been having to take things really easy. BORING. Wink

It's all right. My house is a disaster but I have no motivation to clean it at all

I've been really stressed about finding a job lately. I am a licensed attorney and social worker, but I can't find anything. I have had a few social work interviews but no job :(. There are hundreds of applicants for everything I apply for. Next week I have an interview for assistant public defender in a small county near here, but I don't think I'll get it

My week is OKAY. going FAST! I have no school this week (three weeks of summer break... woohoo) and have had a BUSY BUSY last week.. I NEVER have left Brody overnight or anything and last week we went to seattle for the night and day w/o him, then Friday I hired my brother to babysit for the first time so I could go out with a friend, and then sat/sun I was away in Portland for a bachlorette party/weekend thing... so back to reality this week..

FORTUNATELY.. my little guy must LOVE me because he's been sleeping in late each morning!!! So thats great. The BAD news is we both have a cold! UGH!!!!!

its supposed to be 80 degrees today and I feel like crud so can't really enjoy the day... back to rain next week though Sad

ALSO, during my festivities, I weighed about 9 lbs more then last week when i weighed monday :(... so yesterday I "fasted" somewhat and just ate really light, so hopefully I can get it back off... yikes!!! Wedding is less then 3 weeks away and Im gonna pop out of the dress I fear.

Work til 9pm tmrw and then go back at 6am thurs so Im not really looking forward to those two days.. my sister/neice comes friday for the weekend so that'll be nice... hopefully it'll speed the 2ww up!!!

Okay I've rambled enough Smile

The week is okay so far. We just found out Saturday that we have some friends coming to stay with us for a couple days on Wednesday. Now I have to get the house cleaned as it is a disaster. AF is pretty much over with, so at least I'm not dealing with that now.

My week is so so. The weather has turned on us and it's been thunder-storming on and off today. It's suppose to continue to rain for the next 3 days. Sad

I've already started spotting, so I'm assuming I'm out for a March baby. I started spotting at 3dpo and for the past 3 days straight, this can't be good. I think it's time to head back to the doctor because apart of me just doesn't believe NOTHING is wrong when I'm back to spotting again in the middle of my cycle and haven't done anything different. The part that really p*sses me off is that I'll spot for 10 straight days and then get AF for another 5 days. Hello? What woman wants to bleed & spot for 2 whole weeks?

Work has been okay. Summer officially starts next week for work, so we're losing afew of our kids for the summer -- some are taking the summer off and some are moving up to preschool! But we're getting new kids from the Infant room and they're young, 18 months and there's 4 of them moving over!

We bought new living room furniture this past weekend and it's being delivered on Saturday!! I can't wait. Biggrin

Pam, as a fellow attorney (though --knock on wood--gainfully employed) I hear you. I don't know when you graduated (I did in 2003) but the market has REALLY tanked. There is huge misconception that people get out of law school and get great jobs and make tons of money when the reality often is there are FAR more lawyers than jobs, and even if you can score a position in a firm you're likely starting around $40-50K/yr with well over $100K in school debt. I was just reading an article about this yesterday. I wish you SO MUCH luck in your job search!!

Thanks, I graduated in 2008 but then went on to get my MSW so was just admitted in March of this year.
I definitely understand that misconception. People are always like "but you're a lawyer". Uh, yeah, an unemployed one. And with the type of law I am interested in, I never intended to make much money anyway. I think around here, you're lucky to start at around 40k.

I made a poor decision in getting the MSW. I didn't have that much student debt before (around 50-60k) because I had a full tuition scholarship to law school, and then I chose to come out of state for social work and to more than double my debt! WTF?! There is a law school in my town and I'm not from here so I have no legal network here, and everyone I talk to talks about the importance of networking to get a job, especially here. It's really, really tough. I graduated law school summa *** laude and have the MSW and that's not even helping me get interviews in things family court relevant or ANYTHING, and then I think the JD scares off the social work jobs because they probably think I don't want to work in social work if I'm a lawyer. very very frustrating. I really don't think I'm asking for too much--A job, any job, something. haha

EDIT: I love the auto-editing. haha

Good luck on the job hunt, Pam. I can't imagine looking for work these days. We just had to do some layoffs in April and we're letting more people go at the end of this month. It's really a sad situation.

Shannon - Sorry about your struggles. That does sound annoying and I hope you can get something figured out. But, awesome on the new furniture! I'd LOVE new furniture, but that's not happening any time soon.

I'm about to loose my mind this week! My DD had a horrible start to her day yesterday. After drop-off, her teacher called and said she was screaming and shaking and wouldn't stop. So, I turned around got her calmed down and finally got to work. NO idea where that came from Sad Also, we're putting our house on the market this weekend and it's a DISASTER! We've had a painter in there for the past week and a half (and he's STILL not finished) and then we have carpet cleaners come on Friday. Then we have Saturday and Sunday to get everything back in order...wish us luck because I don't know if it's all going to get done! Oh, and we leave out of the country on Tuesday, so we're really on a time crunch.

Sorry for the ramble, just a lot going on and needed to vent Smile

Yup, DH and I are leaving our DD here with my parents and sister and we're headed to Greece and Turkey for a week and a half. This will only be time #2 that we've left our DD (first time was early May as a 'test run' for 2 days). Let's hope this time is a little better (for everyone). SOOO excited, though!! REALLY hoping I'm preggers so that I don't have to worry about AF during the trip...that'd suck Wink
