I am joining team........

................. BLUE! We are having a boy! :yahoo::yahoo: The Dr. said there was no denying it because his little penis was sticking straight out. LOL He is measuring at 20 weeks 3 days right now.

Got my blood tests back too and everything looks great. The one issue that they want to keep an eye on is my placenta. It is posterior and low-lying, but not to the point of being Placenta Previa. I have to go back in at 28 weeks to see if it comes back up to at least 2 cm. I would be so sad if I had to have a C-section...

Yay! Congrats on being Team Blue! He's gonna be a big boy if he's alredy measuring almost 2 weeks ahead! Did they change your due date?

I have the exact same issue with my placenta...low-lying but not previa. Mine is anterior though. I'm also having mine re-checked at 28 weeks. My doctor really didn't seem very concerned at all and said in almost all cases it moves up on it's own. I'm sure you'll be fine...and you'll get another lil peak at your baby from the ultrasound!

Congrats on a good appointment! And I think there are a lot of ladies here with low placenta. I'm sure it will resolve, but not before you get another peek at your LO!

Thanks! No, the Dr. didn't mention a change to my due date and I didn't think to ask at the time. My Dr. told me that an anterior placenta, like yours, is more likely to move upwards because of how the uterus grows. She wasn't worried, but told me to be really aware of any spotting. She must have repeated herself about 10 times! Baby's daddy is 6ft and I'm only 5'3", sounds like he will grow up to have his daddy's genes Smile

This sounds much like my DH and I! My DH is 6'3" and I'm only 5'3"...and our daughter was 10 lbs at birth! I'd say for sure that she got her daddy's genes, and I'm fully prepared that this baby will too!

Just this morning my mom told me a story of her birth with my oldest brother. My father is 6ft and my mom is 5'0"...My brother was 10 pounds as well at birth! Next month my brother turns 50. Back when he was born all the babies where put into the nursery and the nurses would show my brother (the largest baby) and then show my mom (the smallest mother on the floor). I wonder if that is in my future?

If you don't mind me asking, did you have a c-section?

Nope, no c-section! Her birth was actually pretty easy and I had a surprisingly easy recovery.

Congrats!!!!!!! Really awesome - go boys!!!

My sister's baby was 10 lbs. He was born last Friday by C-section b\c her pelvic region was too small for him to likely fit through (i.e., CPD). She was bummed by a C-section too, but as soon as she saw her healthy boy, she didn't care how he came out. Hopefully, you will not need one. But if you do, know that she doesn't regret it at all (nor does her wahoo Wink ).

congrats on the baby boy!! i have absolutely loved having a son, and so does DH! they are such good buddies.

i hope that placenta moves up for you and delivery goes smoothly even if baby is big. i'm told it's pretty rare to have a pelvis too small for baby...even a big one. our bodies have amazing ways of adapting to let the baby out! Smile

Congrats!!! You will love having a son Smile I pushed out a nearly 10 pounder as well. Sawyer was 9'9. I am fairly short, too. 5'3 on a good day! You can do it!
