Ok if I join you wonderful ladies??

Hello Ladies :wavehello:

My name is Kimberly and I have a wonderful DH and we've been married for over 4 years now. Unfortunately, most of those 4 years we've been TTC #1. I have been on Clomid multiple times. I recently started back on it when I started to see a new doctor. He is wonderful and is doing a lot more work and tests than the last ob/gyn I had!! Hopefully, we can get a few things in line, and then we'll be trying our first Clomid/IUI. I was told by a previous RE that I am insulin resistant. I have been on Metformin for nearly 2 years. I have problems ovulating on my own, thus causing the need for Clomid. And when I DO ovulate on my own it is always really late in the cycle. DH has recently seen a Uriologist and done S/A. Sadly, it showed that his count and motility were low (don't remember motility, but count was about 7 million :dontknow: ). He was sent it for bloodwork and that showed a higher than normal level of progesterone and a lower amount of Testosterone. He has doctor appointment tomorrow to begin fixing that! So that's where we stand now.

I believe that I am in the process or about to ovulate. So, fingers crossed, maybe one out of those 7 million can reach an egg!!! Last time I calculated an EDD it gave me a due date of Feb 29, leap day!! How interesting.

Sooooo sorry this turned into a novel, and thanks getting this far! Hope I'll be able to hang out with you ladies for awhile, if not, i hope to make some great friends to "board hop" with!!

Hi Kimberly :wavehello:

Sorry to hear about your infertility struggles, we're hitting the 4 year mark this September :(. After 3 years of me being treated like a guinea pig by numerous REs, it turns out I'm not actually a big concern in our struggles. My SO is currently seeing a urologist as well and has done 4 SAs in the past 3 years with the same results as your DH. His count is under 4 million right now, which is the worst he's ever gotten, motility was basically non exsistant and morph was pretty bad too. SO has been on the waiting list for a testicular ultrasound for months and hopefully soon, we'll get the call with an appointment date. Without that ultrasound, we can't move onto IUI (got to love the way Canadian health care works  )

Good luck this cycle and hopefully you'll get your little leap day baby. Wink

Hello, Shannon!

Nice to "meet" you... DH went for his follow up on Friday and Dr. has instructed him to take Clomid for 25 days and off for 5!!!! I've never heard of this for a man...25 days!?!? Dr. hopes this will clear up the hormone issues he is currently having. The results are not on the really low end, but they are a little "off". I sure hope this helps.

And thank all you other ladies for such a nice welcome...

Got me an "almost" positive OPK on late Friday night. Blazing tests ALL day yesterday, so I am hoping we catch that miracle egg. *fingerscrossed*

Kimberly,

Clomid for men is actually pretty common. SO was told that Clomid was an option for him back in January but we have to wait for that testicular ultrasound first (I'm actually going to call the office tomorrow and see what's going on with this appt, we should've gotten a call by now). SO told me that a lot of guys at his gym use clomid for body building, so he's alittle thrilled about that part and doesn't object to taking it -- what a guy!

Good luck catching that eggie this cycle!!! Biggrin

Oh Shannon, thanks for the info. DH does not object to taking it, but is not too excited about having to take a medicine that is marketed for post-menopausal and TTC ladies!!! LOL. I'll have to tell him that it helps with body building too... He'll be happy to hear!

Good Luck trying to get that ultrasound scheduled!!!
