Rashes

Ok, so I started to get a rash in the crease of my leg/groin awhile ago, I figured because of the excess moisture in that area--even though I'm wearing panty liners and put powder down there it still always seems to be an issue. Then all of a sudden, the rash just got a million times worse, and now I have a rash in my armpits too. Talk about miserable! Does anyone know what you can use to try to heal it while your pregnant? The last couple days I put A&D ointment on it and it feels much better but it doesn't look like it is healing--it is still red.

Not looking forward to work and spending the day in underwear tomorrow...

I'm not sure, but call the Dr. in the am. There is a special diaper rash cream that they sell behind the counter that is suppose to take care of just about anything. My friend swears by anti-fungal cream, but I don't know if it's safe to use while pg. Either way it sounds miserable and hopefully you can get some relief. Sad

I agree with the PP. Call your doc asap. If you can get your hands on a prescription cream that is safe that would be great. You might try hydrocortisone cream, too. I hope you can find out what is causing it and put an end to it. It sounds really miserable. KUP.

Yep, just waiting for the doctor's office to open!

Last night I was looking for remedies, and I saw tea tree oil as one...I said to myself, "ooh, I have that!" I put some on, then kept reading more about it and everything said don't use it while you are pregnant--right back in the shower to get it off! So I figured I'd ask if anyone had a similar problem! Hope it doesn't take too long to get a hold of the doctor.

Desatin. This may sound silly but because you are wearing panty liners (I have the same issue with pads) it becomes like a diaper rash and gets painful bumpy and red. So a little desatin alternated with petrolium jelly really works wonders. Tends to clear it up really fast. Then I also found that the less I wear panty liners (if I can avoid it) and wear nice clean cotton undies it tends to not reoccur as fast. The excess moisture mixed with the panty liners can cause this quite frequently. Also soaking in an oatmeal bath helps releave some of the immediate discomfort. Just something you can try. Smile

He never called. I've been debating whether I should try calling again or just wait for my appt next week. The desitin didn't really do anything. The Burt's Bees cream seemed to make it feel better, and now it seems like the redness is more on my leg than the crease--I think it is the friction that is making it not go away at this point. So I read last night to try wrapping it so my legs don't rub together--got an ace bandage and tried that today on one leg, and will try wrapping the other as well tomorrow! Let's see how that goes!

So just wanted to give an update...I showed my ob my rash at my last visit, and turns out I have a yeast infection! Never had one before, and the rash was the only symptom. Goes to show, doctors know best so you need to consult with them! Oh, instantly felt better after even just one application of medicated cream!
