Spotting at this point in pregnancy?

Has anyone spotted or had pink discharge at this point in pregnancy (I'll be 33 weeks on Thursday)? Tonight after I went pee I wiped and there was a bunch of pink (discharge?) on the toilet paper. I haven't been overly active today and DH and I haven't DTD in at least a few days so not sure what it could be from. I'm not having any cramps or any out of the ordinary contractions. Thankfully I do have my next OB tomorrow morning around 9am and so I hope to get some answers.

Anyone have any experience with this?

I haven't but I don't think it's uncommon. We have so much more blood now and there is increased pressure on all our veins so it's much easier to bleed. I know that I have (TMI!) bloody boogers almost every morning for this reason. That works out well that you get to see the Dr. this morning!

hopefully your OB will be able to put your mind at ease as far as what that could be. i'm sure everything is okay! i haven't experienced that exactly, but i did have pink discharge and bright red spotting after losing my mucus plug during my first pregnancy. but it seems too early for that to be the cause of your symptoms. hmmm. let us know what you find out tomorrow!

Sometimes it's hemorrhoids. My dr said that there are 5 places that you have a huge increase in blood flow -- and one place is the bum -- so if you see it again, try wiping JUST your anal hole and see if you are infact spotting. Sorry -- so gross, but better than spotting!!

I had that same thing a few weeks ago, went to L&D to get checked, and they could never find any reason as to what was causing it. My dr was concerned that it could be a sign of possible preterm labor, even though i wasn't having any cramping or anything, because my cervix was also on the short side. I came back to L&D a few days later for additional testing and at that point my cervix was nice and long and all the spotting was gone...and I havent had any issues since. So, all of that to say that sometimes I think it's just a fluke thing that happens for no apparent reason. I'm glad you're seeing your dr tomorrow. I'm sure they will have some answers for you.

Well, I got back from the Dr's with some good news and bad news. The good news is that my cervix is still sealed shut, which is actually great news. The bad news is that I have a small bacterial infection which is causing some minor irritation and bleeding. My nurse/midwife prescribed me an antibiotic (metronidazole) to take for 7 days which she said is safe for the baby, but of course I'm a worrier and hate to take anything during pregnancy. I just have to remind myself that the risks of an untreated infection most likely outweigh the risks of taking an antibiotic.

Glad things checked out okay. I just wanted to let you know that I actually am on the exact same antibiotic right now for the same thing. I went last week (Wed) to be checked for preterm labor and they couldn't figure out what I had contractions (about 6-8 in 45 minutes that were real strong) but did find the infection. I have been on the medicine since Wed night and can't wait to be done! I worry too about taking anything while pregnant, but my little guy is still very active so I know he's okay. Thought maybe that could help put your mind at ease about taking this medicine!

I don't know if it will help, but I have had to take a course of anitbiotics with each of my pregnancies and had no complications from it. You are totally right about an untreated infection, even though your mind will never totally be at ease you really are doing the right thing.

Is that why I've had that every morning as well? Well, that explains it! LOL

I'm glad that everything is okay with the baby and you're right. The risks of an untreated infection far outweigh the risks of taking the antibiotic. Thinking of you!
