I just got back from my u/s appt, and it looks like I need to get started on prenatal care!
I went to a crisis pregnancy center, because we just can't afford a medical u/s at the local imaging center ($1500 each). They were thrilled to work with someone who is happy about being pregnant, and I was an opportunity for them to train a nurse on doing u/s! It was really a win/win.
Baby looked great--lying on his/her back. Waved a couple times, lost patience with being looked at (they really hate the u/s, don't they!), and I think it was using its feet to play with its cord. Hb was 180.
The big news, though is that I apparently ovulated early. My lmp says I should be 9wks and 2 days, but baby's measurements say 10wks 4 days. So my new EDD is March 11!
(Sorry, no pics--my computer just doesn't like PO that much :( )
That is great :)
Did they say anything to you about a high HB? Our baby's was 172 at my appointment last week and she said it was a little high but not to worry about it ... So of course I have been worrying about it !! Haha. I've done some looking around online though and I've seen a ton of "high" HB's in the 170-180 range.
I expressed my surprise that the hb was so high, but the supervising nurse said that it was still within the normal range, so not to worry.
at this stage a normal hb can be as high as 200! I found that out looking for some details on determining gender from the hb. Everyone kept telling us it must be a girl because ours was 150-160. There's no science behind that btw lol. My nephew had a much higher hb than my niece.
I had always heard the fishwive's tale being that the higher hb meant boy! Thus far the stories about carrying high or low and how you look from the back have been accurate for me, but given my body shape, I think I would carry low and to the front no matter what baby wanted to do :)
