I spent a pretty large portion of my pregnancy so far inadvertently almost using feminine pronouns. I was pretty sure it was a girl but hesitated whenever I thought about buying anything- so I wasn't 100% convinced. We were hoping for a girl so I kept thinking girlie thoughts lol.
They took me back for my scan on Friday and I had a full bladder as requested. Too full apparently because I had to tell the tech, "I'm sorry, I can't. I have to pee or else the moment you start pushing on me, I am going to burst". Thankfully she was awesome about it because I really didn't have a choice in the matter lol.
She did most of the anatomy scans that she needed and then she went to get DH and SIL out of the waiting room. Our previous visit had been in a room the size of a closet so I left the kids with MIL but this room was much larger so I regret that.
When she left to go get DH and SIL, I had this absolutely overwhelming feeling that I was wrong. It was a boy. I just knew it at that moment. Admittedly, I was a bit disappointed at this revelation but I spent the next few minutes psyching myself up about how fun boys are and bracing myself for the possibility of a boy - just in case.
Everyone came back into the room, did a few more scans and then showed us what was unmistakably a penis and scrotum! So after what felt like a very long wait (I was 20w2d), we now know IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!
We still have no idea what his name will be. We are terrible at picking out boys names because we hate everything. There are so many more nice girls names (and clothes...). We'll figure it out eventually though lol.
I swore up and down that this baby was a girl in the beggining. But, nope, definitly a boy lol. I have a Xander also This little guy is going to more than likely (I am reserving the right to change my mind up till the last min... just incase) going to be Kellen. I was so where you are right now. I was only liking girs name, and really couldnt find a boys name that I liked. I think once you get beyond one or 2 of 1 gender it gets harder and harder to find something that jumps out at ya
Congrats Danielle! I'm sorry it's not a girl though. With DD I was positive I was having a boy, they wouldn't reveal the gender at our hospital back then so we had to wait until the birth to find out but I cried after my u/s because I was SOOOO sure it was a boy and I really wanted a girl lol. Boy oh boy was I surprised!
We have our u/s on wednesday and I'm excited but nervous. I keep saying I don't care either way but I little part of me is hoping it's a girl. DH is desperate for it to be a boy.
@Kier, it really is very hard after you get past 1 or 2 of the same gender. DS3 was 3 days old before he was named lol. DS4 may be home from the hospital before being named hehe.
Ultimately, like you, I don't care either way but a girl and girlie things would have been nice ya know? 4 boys...whew! I am really outnumbered here!
I'll scan the u/s pic when I get a chance but they're all profile shots. The one pic, you can see his nose and I swear, it looks exactly like DH, DS2's and DS3's nose! DS2 and DS3 look like the same person lol so I'm probably going to be having another little look alike.
Congrats on another boy. I totally know what you mean about feeling it was a girl up until the moment of the u/s when you knew. I went through the same thing with my 2nd and 3rd boys. Maybe you can get something pink for him anyway. I mean, my boys are huge fans of anything pink. I think it's because they practically never see the color.
Too bad I didn't get to stick around or I'm sure I would have been on boy #4 right along with you.
