Thread: No ultrasound on Thursday :(

I just found out I'm not getting an ultrasound at my appt on thursday I guess they will do that in 2-3 weeks I'm so bummed. I just wanted to hear the heartbeat so I could know everything is going ok. I was counting down the days because I thought i was going to know there was a baby in there. With my other 2 pg I got an ultrasound at like 7 weeks

That's disappointing. Was there a reason you had them before or were they just routine?
I had an u/s at 6-7 weeks with all my previous pregnancies, but that's unlikely this time around. With my previous ones, my terrible m/s made the docs want to rule out multiples. Now I think they get that it's just what my body does. My first appointment is as 8w, but I'm guessing my first u/s won't be until 12w. It's going to be hard to be patient!

no i guess that's just how my old dr did it. I think the last one was at 8 weeks but he was measuring 7 weeks so maybe it wasn't as soon as i thought.

I'm sorry, how disappointing. Maybe if you ask your doctor s/he will do one for you. The staff at my doctors office is pretty strict but if I ask him, he's like, sure...I love my doctor

It's not as official, but I've read that crisis pregnancy centers will sometimes do ultrasounds for non-crisis moms to give their employees some extra training. I'm actually thinking about calling my local center to ask if they do that. Ultrasounds are just too expensive in my area!
