My next appointment is this Wednesday, the 5th.
My DH missed my last appointment, the first time I got to hear the heartbeat, because he had to go out of town that morning and it was really sad He is a supervisor at a restaurant here and is being transferred this week, at his request, to a closer store to our home, so we weren't sure if he would be able to make it to my appointment again. His new Manager called him yesterday and promised not to schedule him that morning so he is going to be able to come and we are going to bring our daughter too so that she can also hear her baby brother/sister
I am so stinking happy and excited and just wanted to share !
Thanks ladies The appointment went really well! My midwife brought Ashlynn a tiny baby to show her how big the baby is in my belly now and let DH and DD find the heartbeat (159). It was so cool to share that with our little girl we also asked about having Ash at the ultrasound and they said that wouldn't be a problem at all and we can schedule it for any time after oct 25th so I'm hoping to have it oct 26th! Haha
That will be so nice for you, and good for him getting to be closer!
Mama to 5 Honey Bunnies
That sucks Crystal ! Are you having it at the office or at a hospital?
We had our DD's u/s at the hospital for scheduling reasons and it was not a good experience! I got called back by myself and the nurse asked if we wanted to know the sex. I said Yes, but I want to wait until my (fiance at the time) can come back. So she does the measurements and doesn't say anything and then goes and gets the doctor. She tells him in front of me that I don't want to know the sex until my fiance can be in the room. He acknowledged her and then looked at the screen for a couple of minutes and says "So, she's having a girl." RIGHT THE FREAK IN FRONT OF ME. I was so pissed ! But at least my husband was able to come in at the end to see her moving :/ which he wouldn't have been able to make it at all at the office.
This time I am having it at the office if it kills me ! I want this to be a good experience and be able to share it with my DH and DD and not have some a-hole doctor ruin it.
The Obstetrics clinic here is part of the hospital, and all u/s are done in the u/s department (except those done with the porta machine int he ER). We don't see a doctor during them either. Just the tech who can't give us much for details other than pointing out anatomy, anything the doctor needs to discuss is done at the next appointment.
The city we moved from was similar except we didn't see an OB until we hit 36w, just a family physician up till that point so I'm happy the process is different here.
What a rude doc! Some have no bedside manners or people skills for that matter!
Hope you have a great u/s experience this time around
Megan, how awesome!! I'm so glad you guys were able to share such a special moment as a family. It sounds like your MW is truly wonderful!
SO WHAT!, I AM AUTISTIC. This saying gives infants , children , young adults , and elderly a chance to say S0 WHAT! I am no different than you......... IT'S time to not label us. It's time to see us as normal as YOU
