Where is everyone??? Any babies out there yet?
Still waiting for little miss to make her arrival. Two days overdue now. Non-stress-test scheduled for Friday. Then induction will be scheduled for mid-next-week if she hasn't arrived.
Wow! You'll have him before I have mine, I'm sure! I will be induced on Wednesday the 12th if nothing has happened by then, which so far it doesn't seem to be :/ I will be 41+3 at that point. My doctor does not want to wait any longer than that.
Nope! It's a miracle I feel like I've been in early labour for months. Lots of show the last two weeks (!) and constant but irregular, and slightly painful contractions. Now that I'm almost 38 weeks I am eager for this to end LOL. I have a feeling baby will be here in the next few days but then again, I've felt like that for a while now... I was 90% effaced and 3 cm dilated last Monday, so we will see what I am at my appointment this Monday if I don't have baby by then.
I've been checking back to see if there are any updates! Are you all busy snuggling your little ones?
Baby Nicholas arrived on Monday! 6 lbs 14 oz, 18 inches long!
I had an all natural delivery, mainly because he came SO FAST - once my water was broken at 6 cm I had him only 12 contractions later! Here's the story:
I was in early labour starting saturday evening - I knew the contractions I was feeling were stronger and different, but they were very irregular ranging from 5-15 minutes so I thought nothing of it. Then they stopped Saturday morning! I was annoyed but enjoyed the break and had a nap. They started back up 1 AM sunday night and kept going through the night, although they stayed irregular. By morning they were relatively painful but still easily manageable, and still irregular. I had a doctor's appointment that morning so I went in and was at 5 cm. The doctor was worried about me not making it to the hospital if my water broke because of my fast prior delivery. She suggested I go to the hospital and we see how I'm progressing, and break my water if needed.
We drove over and I started walking the floor. Doc arrived 1.5 hrs later and I was now at a 6 cm but contractions still 10 minutes apart. She suggested breaking my water to move things along, which I agreed to although nervously. I opted not to have any painkillers because contractions weren't too bad yet. Doc broke my water and the next contraction was definitely stronger. Next one even stronger yet. Doc drove back to her office and was going to check in an hour later. Well, within 3 more contractions I was screaming, feeling the strong urge to push. I wasn't even wearing a gown yet! I yelled for the nurse and she checked me and said yup, fully dilated, don't push until the doctor gets back. Very funny... I told her I had no control as my body was doing the pushing on its own.
Within about 4 more contractions the doctor was back and I was given the ok to push. I started pushing despite the immense pain and pushed for 5 or so contractions and Nicholas was born. He was placed on my chest immediately and shortly after nursed like a champ!
Unfortunately I tore along my old episiotomy scar and needed quite a few stitches. Was really hoping to avoid that this time. The stitching was pretty unpleasant and to be honest, I felt like a truck hit me for about 2 hrs after delivery. I was really shaky and felt weak. Somehow I thought I would feel better given I had no drugs, but maybe I was in shock a bit because of the crazy pain and how fast it all went.
We got to go home the very next day and Nicholas is perfect! He nurses wonderfully which is so nice because my first had a terrible time nursing, and we are just totally in love
Congrats Elle on baby Nicolas's arrival! These fast births are crazy, no? I feel for you having to have stitches though with no meds! That sounds worse than the birth itself! I don't know how well I would have handled that--the natural birth was enough for me! You are wonder woman!

Yay Elle!!! I'm so happy that you and baby are doing well. Hopefully you are recovering from the tearing and the stitching (no fun). I'm sure it's such a relief to end this months-long labor process. I have been waiting to hear this and I'm so happy for you! Congrats! Rest up girl! *HUGS*
