At least I made it to 30 weeks so far, meaning that the NICU at our hospital will take the baby barring any other health concerns. It's a smaller town and only one hospital, so the closest NICU before 30 weeks would have been 4 hrs away! The thought of having to go there scared the bejeezus out of me. I fully intend to keep this LO baking though till at least 36 weeks, better yet 37... I have another appointment in 10 days and will get the doc to check my cervix to see what's happening.
Yay for still being pregnant Also glad to hear you have been able to keep contractions to a minimum with modified bed rest. Four hours would have been a long distance so that's good that you have passed the gestational mark for your closer NICU, though hopefully you will not need to use it all.

Elle - I have been following your posts and I just wanted to drop in and check up on you. I am soo glad that you hit the 30 week mark. I was breathing a sigh of relief for you. But now your ticker says that you are about 33 weeks and change so how are ya?? Is LO behaving and staying put? I am sending you lots of "delaying labor" vibes and praying for ya as well. KUP! *hugs*

    Lurking from Nov. 2012

I was on bedrest with my son from 21 weeks till he was born at 26 weeks and 3 days. I am so happy to see your baby is still cooking. Bedrest is hard but so worth it. My older son was not even a year when I went on bedrest so that was difficult.

I hope you are holding up well and as you probably know, each day, each week means a world of difference for the baby.

    Keeping you in my thoughts

Thanks so much for checking in ladies, I appreciate it!

I guess I haven't been by much - maybe because I'm enjoying my new found freedom? I had another ultrasound last week and the doctor actually told me I could go off bedrest because my cervix looked so good! I didn't get the details since she just left me a message, but will ask her questions at my appointment this Wednesday. I still take it pretty easy, meaning I lift my toddler as little as possible, and I don't go out grocery shopping or to work (I work from home now).

I did notice contractions pick up with increased activity but they usually settle with a warm bath and I am very careful to take it easy when needed. I plan to ask for a cervix check at my appt this week and go from there. I am beyond ecstatic to be at 34 weeks and really hope to go till at least 37. Like Nicky said, any extra day is great for these little guys and the closer I get to my due date the more I can feel that stressful feeling in the back of my mind lifting!

Things with my toddler also got much better - he is quite needy and was getting very frustrated with mommy not being able to pick him up/get up with him all the time, and was starting to get very frustrated and into some real trouble so I would have to get up. I am happy to be able to play with him relatively normally again and not have to spend the last few weeks we have "alone" together in such a tense situation.

Thanks again for checking in and your thoughts, I appreciated it!

Wonderful news!! I am sooo happy to hear that! Wow. What a relief for you! I am sure your DS is feeling the stress lifting from mommy as well. Thanks for the update (I have been checking every day haha). 34 weeks is awesome and it sounds like that is keeping stable for now. Stay put kiddo!

    Thank you so much Katie!
It's so weird having contractions every couple minutes and not really paying any attention to them! Since I've started moving more again they are much stronger and actually hurt some times, so I am curious to see what the doctor says tomorrow. At least I can be pretty sure baby will be fine even if born at 34 weeks, although I would like to go full term. My first was born at 36 weeks and he had a lot of feeding issues that made life pretty difficult for a while - I would really like to avoid that this time!
