    Default On to March....

I won't lie I'm getting discouraged. This is cycle 3 of clomid after my last m/c and its gonna be a bust. Before that we tried for 6 mos on our own after m/c and then did 2 clomid cycles before having the other m/c. I really thought the clomid would work again. But I'm so tired of the awful side effects! If I could be sure it'd eventually work I'd do it for as long as I had too dont get me wrong. But 3 mos is the most my MW thought it should take that's considered a good trial on it. I am going to ask to try Femara next month. It's supposed to be easier on you. But I'm wondering if I should ask to cd referred to an RE. It would be a pain since the closest is 1.5 he's away and dh will have trouble getting off work. Plus neither my MW nor the OBs think I need to go. They think eventually it'll work if I just keep on trying. I've been pg twice in the past 14 mos which ended in m/c and they consider that fertile. Not to mention I have 6 successful pgs/kids. I'm not getting any younger though I'm 36.5 and my eggs aren't young anymore. I'm afraid of waiting too long to get an appt (and who knows how long that will take), then for them to do testing, etc, before I can get a plan from them to ttc.

I'm sorry you're getting discouraged. It really can be frustrating. Did they mention going on progesterone after O, because you are getting pregnant.. It just needs to stick. I just don't like that RE's automatically jump to IUI and IVF when the problem could most likely be solved by trying less expensive things first.

Hang in there, it will happen for you! ((hugs))

We have a similar issue with going to the fertility clinic, it's an hour and a half away but both hubby and I have to get time off work, which is slightly easier for me than him, he doesn't get sick days, at his work you only get dead days

Patrice- no they haven't mentioned progesterone after O at all. They say my progesterone is always good on cd 21 and that that should be good enough to support a pg at least at first? I will ask though it can't hurt. I've had estrogen recommended to me by others here but my OB says if I want to go that route I have to go to the RE. Plus they think my lining is fine they checked it once when I wasn't pg and it was good and them during the last m/c it was nice and thick though that did little good.

I'm sorry the clomid hasn't been working for you this time. Hopefully trying something new will do the trick. I'll be thinking of you!

I bet the Femara will work for you if you switch! I think you'll like it a lot better. It's like a breath of fresh air after Clomid!

Started Femara last night!!! Yay for a change up. If I don't get pg in 3 mos on the Femara then I'll be referred to the OB. I asked my MW if she thought this was a lost cause and if I should just stop torturing myself with meds and ttc. She said absolutely not and assured me if she felt that way she'd tell me. She thinks it just taking longer bc I'm 36 now and my body has been through a lot the past year. So I'm hopeful for the Femara to work!

It'll work Tiffany! I just know it will! And you'll feel SO much better on the Femara. Maybe we'll both have good cycles and finally be on a BB together! That would be so awesome!
