24 hour pee test :(

Well I had my 35 week OB appt today.

First thing the nurse commented on was my swollen ankles, then she took my blood pressure and it was a little high 140/80.

She had me put my feet up and then I waited for my OB. Talked to my OB and she said there were traces of protein in my urine and they want me to do a 24 hour urine test. Plus since I had mentioned both having headaches and heartburn recently, she is concerned about me getting pre-eclampsia. They did take my blood pressure again and it went down.

She told me to rest as much as possible and that we may need to move my c/s date up a week depending on the results of the labs.

So I guess I may be getting to deliver earlier, which I would like, though I really didn't want it to be due to complications, I just wanted to go into labor and make all these contractions I have been dealing with for months worth something!

So I guess I get the lovely experience of collecting my pee in a jug in my refrigerator for 24 hours. And I guess maybe I should try to mark off a few more things on my "to do before baby" list.

I'm sorry, Kalee. How can you rest with a 2 year old? Sad Do you have extra help you can rely on? KUP on results!

You're so close now, Kalee, either way the baby will be just fine... but I really hope it's just one of those anomalies that sometimes happen in late pregnancy. I had a trace of protein a couple of times near the end, but it was gone the next time (not with hbp though).

KUP and ((bighugs)) ... try to get some rest - I know, I know, almost impossible! Wink

Got to hate that pee test, but glad your doc is being proactive.

Question...........what does the heartburn have to do w/ pre-e? I am definitely a pre-e risk, but I've never heard of the heartburn. I have head aches, high bp and am even on a beta blocker for my bp.

I am afraid she will move my section up too, but if that is what must be done! I almost feel like at a point my body is hurting him more than helping him!!!

Let us know your results. My doc didn't send me home w/ the pee jug, but she did do labs/bloodwork on my organs, blood platelets and my urology (or something) and they all came back normal.

Keep us posted girly!

Just turned in my jugs and got my blood drawn. Hopefully I will have results by this time tomorrow.

Sorry I forgot to come back and update, the results were all within normal range, except my iron level that was low, but I already knew that.

They took my BP at my NST Thursday, it was still in normal range but 135/75 at first and they took it again after I had been resting for about 20 minutes and it went down to 110/70 or so. So I think it is just a little bit high for what is my normal BP after I have been up/walking around, but after I sit for a few minutes it goes down.
