Well, we survived! Yahoo.
We returned late on Monday from our nearly two week trek across the country. We drove from Colorado to Nashville, TN and then to NW Indiana. It was lots of fun, we saw tons of extended family and our kids had a blast playing with many many cousins.
And they were real troopers in the car. 18 hours to Nashville. 8 to NW Indiana. 17 back to Colorado....oy! They were rockstars-- letting us log legs of more than 4 hours between stops. But now we feel like we need to upgrade from our minivan to something bigger....Jon and Kate mini-bus maybe? I'm only half kidding.....
I have a load of pictures-- but here are just a few of the treasures.
We spent some time fishing with family and Miles caught the first fish. The girls refused to hold it-- so did Miles. But Lexi insisted that she hold it. "Hold da ish!"
The big kids with their great great grandmother-- she is 98 and still lives alone. Though I'm not sure how much longer she'll be able to do that-- she was in a lot of pain while we were with her (her back is giving her trouble....)
We played dress up/fashion show with cousins--lol at Lexi
We rode on pontoon boats and swam in pools and lakes.....so much fun with family.
All in all we are grateful for the time we had with family but also elated to be home in our own beds and back to some kind of schedule before school starts on the 22nd.
We also celebrated Taya's 8th birthday-- where does the time go?!?!?
