Bed rest. XP

Last appt my cervix measured 3.5 and this time it was 1.08. Oopsy! I could tell immediately it was short when she stuck the wand in. I go Friday to my OB for a fetal fibrectin test. If its negative I'm not at risk for labor in the next 2 weeks. Then at 32 weeks I start the NSTs. No lifting anything heavy, laundry baskets, kids, grocery shopping. I can get in the pool for a little while with the kids but no actual swimming. I need to be sitting or laying down. Never thought id be in bed rest! It'll be worth it.
Good news is babies look great!! Both measuring ahead by about 4 days. Jeremiah is 3lbs 9oz and Evelyn is 3lbs 8oz. Nice sizes! That's my update!

Hang in there, babies! You seem to be taking everything in stride, but do try to rest as much as you can to keep the buns in the oven. Good news that they are doing so well. Keep us posted!

You can do it!!!! Every second of bedrest will be worth it. Granted, I didn't have two other children to look after when I was on bedrest, but you can do it! I started modified bedrest at 26 weeks (docs suggestion for ALL of his twin mamas) then I went into labor at 29 weeks and the bedrest got more strict with meds to stop contractions every 4 hours (I had to set an alarm for the middle of the night). At 32 weeks I was put on strict bedrest and delivered them at 37 weeks! It was a long 11 weeks, but worth every single second of it! You will do great! Just take it easy and listen to docs orders.

So glad to hear that babies are doing well and measuring ahead of schedule! Did you doc give you the steroid shot to help the babies lungs just in case you do go early?

HUGS!!!!

Thanks!

Tara - you made it so long!! That's great! She didn't talk steroid shots at all. I have a reg OB appt on friday so maybe she will mention it. The MFM doc said that her biggest concern is how much it changed in a month. She said your cervix slowly starts to decrease at this point anyway, but mine REALLY shortened. I tried to gauge her concern, but I couldn't tell. Either way, I'm listening to what she says and trying to take it easy. My DH works for home so he can step in on most everything. So that's really nice!

That's awesome that you will really have some help from DH!! I know bedrest sucks, I was on it for a bit with #2 and #3 and sometimes I would get a little stirr crazy. You are doing an awesome job baking those babies!!
