What's everyone planning on getting their LO (and other children) for Christmas?
We are nearly done with Kaylin, I think...I always find things to get her, Lol. Her big present this year is the Melissa & Doug Art Easel, it has a chalkboard/dry erase/and paint area. Then we got her a few dress up outfits, a dressy jacket, a couple games, and puzzles. My FIL gave us $100 to go buy gifts to bring to his house for our get together, I think we're going to get her a doll set-up: she loves baby dolls, then get her some clothes/stroller/little crib, etc. And she needs new winter clothes, too.
Trucks, trucks, trucks! It's all Ev is into so I got him a few tonka trucks and cat construction vehicles. Easy for me this year!
Mason's big present is the Crayola 3-in-1 easel (which is to him and Shaylynn together from Santa) Then his big present from Mommy and Daddy is a VTech Mobigo because I thought it would entertain him on our 7 hour drive to my Grandma's for Christmas. He is also getting a few books, a ball drop maze thing, and The Lion King from us. Plus stocking stuffers and maybe something I forgot. I am trying not to go too overboard, but it's so hard not to want to buy everything I see that I know he would like.
My mom is giving him some legos, and Cars 2, and a few other small things.
Grady is getting a plasmacar from Santa - our place has a huge ground floor so I think he's going to have SO much fun ripping around on that thing!
He's also getting a doctor's kit, zhu zhu baby (he loves Mimi's...) and a few other little things. More duplo stuff from the inlaws, and my mom usually sends money that each kid can spend on themselves after Christmas.
Mimi's big gift will be the American girl doll, plus some accessories for her zhu zhu pets, and a couple of zoobles. Oh and some clothes.. the girl loves dresses!
Kieren's big gift is Snap Circuits - I think Richard ordered him the big set. I think he'll be thrilled. Also Star Wars lego stuff, Lego Ninjagos, and stocking stuffers.
We're pretty organized as we had ordered most things from Toys R Us months ago in order to get free shipping at the time. Love it!
Not really sure what we are getting the girls yet. We have a list of things but keep telling other people what's on it when they ask what to get the girls. The thing I think they will like the most is going to be from DH's parent's. A train set! They are OBSESSED with trains. Our friends have a perfect play table that they are going to give to us that they can set it up on. It's from Ethan Allen and NICE! I wish it were bigger so I could use it!
I think we may get them cameras. They LOVE to look at pictures and are always trying to steal my cameras.
Other then that, maybe some puzzles, arts & crafts stuff, playdough stuff, etc...
So far for Cooper I have Cars 2 DVD, a pack of play food, and a big Thomas set, the gold mine or something. The used toy store here is going to be putting out the Take n Play Thomas stuff soon(they were waiting until they had a big batch) so I will be getting him hopefully a bunch of track, and some more trains.
I'm pretty much done for Sierra- I started back in August, watching sales at Michael's for art stuff. I've got a few packs of small canvases, some sketchbooks, some oil pastels, paint, and brushes.
Last week I found out that the Mythbusters are coming here on a live tour in January, and bought 2 tickets so Colin can take her! They will do some experiments on stage, and have some audience participation, behind-the-scenes videos from the show, it should be really cool. It's going to be at one of the "theatres" in downtown Vancouver, so much more intimate than if it was in the hockey arena I really think she's going to LOVE it!!
We draw names in our family, so I got my mom, and I have a pair of hockey tickets that fall on her b-day in Feb., so that's her gift. I'll fork over the extra $25 to get a Happy Birthday message put up on the big screen for her, she'll be over the moon. She always complains that she never gets to go, she's always babysitting, so it should be a thrill for her
Colin I have no idea. He doesn't want anything, doesn't need anything. If he does, he goes out and buys it. He sucks lol.
I think for DD she's going to get a desk for her room, desk accessories, a scentsy to go on her desk, a side coach purse (from the outlet!)lol, Christmas pj's, probably some clothes as well.
Drew-maybe a new bike/helmet, cowboy boots, bean bag for room Christmas pj's........he really wants a new DS, but idk....he got a mobigo last year, so maybe just a few new games for that.
Jake-I.HAVE.NO.CLUE!!!!!!!!! I know for sure a bean bag or type of chair for his room and Christmas pj's, dora dvd's. But I have no clue what his big present should be. It's hard bc we have a bike that Drew has outgrown that he can use......he does need some new shoes, but to a kid that's no fun! lol
My Dad sent some money to get them some gifts since he will be in town during Christmas and so far I got the boys fishing poles, tackle boxes, sleeping bag for Drew, Dora blanket and pj's for Jake. I haven't had a change to get Makayla anything with her money yet though
i am pretty much done with my kiddos.
Jacob-nerf guns, helmet, games, alarm clock(lego ninjago), movie, green latern jet that turns into a tank. I still have to get him a beyblade, as for his big gift..we are still going back between a 3ds or an ipod nano. not sure yet...
Ethan-we got him a train set, some constuction crane, choo-choo uno, movie, tractor game, and a tool box(play of course!LOL) his ds took a crap so we might be buying 3ds for him also. other wise it would be legos!
Emily I got her my little pony doll that walks, strawberry shortcake,Minnie purse, Clothes, a little skateboard, a kitty you feed a bottle to, and loving family doll house accessories(my grandpa is building a doll house for her!)
We are also giving the kids clothes, jammies, socks, underwear... the stuff they don't really care to open..lol
I have lists for each kid-- and we are mostly done shopping for them.
Taya- an ipod nano, a new bike with gears (big stuff!), clothes, pj's, book, socks, legwarmers
Callie- an ipod nano, clothes, pjs, book, legwarmers. We aren't certain what her big gift will be, but we think it will be this mat for gymnastics. It is like a wedge that she can practice stuff on-- she'll be thrilled to have her own gym stuff at home.
Miles- a new hat, pjs, book, then this big set of batman block things.
Lexi- clothes, shoes, book, some magnetic letters, a bath toy sorter thing, and not sure what her big gift will be. It might be a tumbling mat to go along with her sisters wedge....not certain.
I should order those soon! I always do most of my shopping early, but this year the fall went by too quickly with my travel and feeling pukey :(. And we just had to buy a new washing machine and I plan to buy Trey a snowblower for his birthday.....blasted expenses. We don't use credit for our purchases, as I don't like surprises in January.....oh well! We'll figure it out. We always do too much anyways.
We're going to visiting DS in Haiti over the holidays, so yesterday I managed to send off the packages for the little ones. WOW! I'm so organized! (Not really...)
I managed to make photo books once again, but those are for Skyler after his heart surgery, not for Christmas really. I got him another thing, something to make with his Dad and Sarah. He may need help because there are many pieces.
Ivy is getting a couple of games that I think she'll enjoy if others play them with her.
Leo is getting water play toys - simple, but he should enjoy them in the hot tub with his brother and sister.
DS is also getting a photo book I put together for him, in addition to loads of things for his school in Haiti.
When does Skyler have to have heartsurgery? I will keep them all in my thoughts and prayers.
Rachel, have you already gotten the Coach purse? I got an e-mail for a 48 hour online Factory sale! They only do this like once or twice a year. And everything is an ADDITIONAL 30% off!!! I'll send it to you in a PM. If anyone else wants it, let me know!
Audra, I used to teach gymnastics, so I know exactaly what mat you are talking about. What a GREAT gift! Heck, Lexi will have fun playing with it too and just tumbling down it!
Tara, I got that one too! LOL I think I might hit up our outlet we have here though. I went a few weeks ago and they had some that were 50% off and then gave you an additional 30% coupon when you walked in the door!!!
We got each of the girls a pb barn kids monogrammed beach towel since we go so much and live 15min away, a personalized book that has their name through it, I want to get Em a big activity cube for when she's older and a few hangy toys, G and I (along w 3of her girl cousins, my sister, sis in law, friend and my step mom) are going to Disney princesses on ice the day after Xmas. We also got her a princess play castle for the play room. My sis is getting G a leapfrog Jr tag reader so we will get her some books to go w it as well.
From our family they are getting music toys, hangy toys, each getting an American girl doll from my parents (why thy want to get em one is beside me) as well as many other things. They always make out like bandits at Xmas bc of our huge family n friend base.
These girls are going to make me cave. I have confinced myself to NOT buy them American Girl dolls for Christmas. I asked them today what they wanted Santa to bring them and after Addison freaked out because she does NOT like Santa, they both ran and grabbed American Girl Doll catalogs and said "New baby!" Ugh, I might cave now! Hopefully DH will be able to talk some sense into me!
Tara, you will have a tough time saying no to the girls! You need to recycle that catalog before it even gets on the house! I love looking at it too, makes me very thankful for my little boy!
Tara, they have twins on there for 100$ that u could get them and they could each have one! 50$ a piece isn't too too bad right???
Both kids will be getting an art easel from IKEA from Santa. Liese's big present is My First Dollhouse with all the accessories. I picked up the whole set in great condition at a consignment sale for $35!!! She's also getting a Melissa & Doug Cookie Set, a princess barbie, some baby dolly accessories, and we always give both kids some clothes, books, and stocking stuffers. DS is getting a bean bag chair, his first set of Leggos, a Discovery Channel shark attack set, and a set of nerf swords along with the clothes, books and stocking stuff.
Like some of the other ladies mentioned, I have a hard time not caving to tons of stuff I see, but I try to get some of it at consignment sales t/o the year so it doesn't cost us an arm and a leg.
No idea what the grandparents will be getting for the kids. They don't really solicity input from us and even if they do, it's usually something comletely different so it's almost always a surprise.
Good tip Laurie, to just get rid of the catalog!!! Anne, they really like the bitty babies, which are $50 and come with some things. We will most likely go to the store when we are in NYC for Thanksgiving, so you KNOW I will cave!!! Oh well, they will LOVE them, so it's worth it! I know Addison will really want one of the cats or dogs to go with it. Yup, I'm in trouble!!!
Just a FYI regarding the adorable American Girl Bitty Babies, the two strings hanging out at the neck are supposed to be there. I thought they'd come out on Liese's and was mightily annoyed until I figured out you're just supposed to tuck them into the clothes.
What are the strings for? So weird to have them if all u do is tuck them in!
