Clomid fail. :(

It's been a while since I have posted on our ttc adventure so here's an update. It took forever (66 day cycle) for me to get a period so I could start my first clomid cycle. I went for my 21 day progesterone test yesterday and then got the dreaded phone call from my OB that I didn't ovulate, which I kind of already was suremof since I didn't get a positive OPK or see the shift on my temp chart. I was really bummed but of course he was extremely upbeat and positive about it saying, "it's good that we have no way to go but up.". So for my next cycle he is increasing the dose to 100mg (double what I took this time). He also said that if my period doesn't start within 40 days from the start of my current cycle that he would give me something to start it.

Yesterday was a tough day and I was really feeling awful. I never thought I would be going through this, especially since I was able to get pregnant with Ev on my own. I am trying very hard to stay optimistic but it's tough!

Well, thanks for reading and I'll update again when there's something happening!

I'm sorry Laurie Sad - I am glad that your OB is positive and willing to continue to find the solution. Hoping the next dose is the winner and you get the BFP!

I'm glad your doctor is proactive in the next step to try. Which just shows he or she will continue to be if for some reason the next attempt doesn't do the trick. That being said - I hope it does!!! KUP on everything.

Thanks for all of your kind words, Mamas!! It's driving me batty when everyone around me seems to be saying, "you just need to relax," "you should be grateful that you have Ev," or "maybe it's just not meant to be.". Of course I am grateful that we have Ev! Of course I am trying to relax, it's not easy! At least my doctor is very supportive and encouraging so that helps a lot!

Laurie I'm so sorry your having to go through this. I cannot imagine how disheartening it is, and how stressful. I will keep you in my t's and p's.

My best friend is going through this, they don't have any kids, and she is getting so frustrated. She has a period, and they are starting the test to see if she needs clomid. She had the dye test done and it showed a blockage that passed, so she thought she would be able to get pregnant w/in the next 2 cycles, but she didn't. She is getting impatient, and I've told her that I have friends (on here) that have been trying for years and years.

I hope that you have some luck soon! You shouldn't have to go through this, I'm so sorry. Please keep us posted!

So sorry!! Clomid didn't work for me. Would your doc consider letting you use Femara? I took a double dose of that and bam, I was pregnant. It's been 9 almost 10 months of TTC on our own too for #3. I'm on like CD96. It's really hard, I totally understand. It's also irritating when you get pregnant on your own and all of a sudden it's not working. You just want your body to WORK LIKE IT'S SUPPOSED TO!!!!! Praying the second round works for you! Keep us posted!!

He hasn't mentioned Femara yet...he said with clomid he is willing to go up to 250mg. I hope we don't get to that point! When I wemt to see him in May, he was joking about how we spend so much of our life being good with birth control and then it's tough when we want to get pregnant and it doesn't happen right away. I told him I could have saved a heck of a lot of money on bcp if I would have known! :). I think I mentioned before that with Ev, I ovulated on CD93....craziness! I hope a BFP comes your way soon!

I'm so sorry the first round didn't work Laurie Sad I hope that this next round does the trick. What's really positive about this is you are only at the beginning of the interventions so you have a lot of good support going for you Smile

This was my BIGGEST pet peeve while TTC. I actually flipped out on my MIL one time when she said this. It makes you feel like you are the cause of your problem. Like if you could just relax there would be no issue. Well, that's HARD to do when the first thing you think about EVERY morning is taking your temperature, or popping a pill, or seeing other pregnant people. Yeah, not easy to relax thru that.

I just read an article about a study where relaxing HAS NO IMPACT on getting pregnant. So while I want you to relax for your own good, it's won't make any difference. And I know how hard that is to do. So HUGE HUGS!!!!!

I'm right there with you!

My husband and I have been ttc for 3 years. I don't ovulate on my own so my ob started me on clomid in July. I just took my day 21 to see of i O'd on Thursday. Hopefully I'll know Mon or Tues. I only took 50mg of clomid and my OPK never indicated that I O'd so I don't have high hopes. OB says if no O he'll up my clomid to 100 mg and hopefully that helps. If I hear one more person ask, "when are you and Justin going to have kids?" or "How come y'all don't have any babies?" I'm gonna smack em! It's not even people I know well lol. O well, hoping that next month holds better things for us. Thankfully my husband likes to BD a lot more than I do so he makes thinks enjoyable at least! Hope you get a BFP soon Smile

I hate when ppl say stuff like this....its soooo not helpful and makes u feel as though its something u can control. Instead of being kind and encouraging it makes their words condescending and hurtful Sad

We are here for u lady and it sounds like ur doc is too Smile hopeful that bfp is close by!
