I'm a mess...

No seriously, I am. Ever since I've had Jake I swear my body has gone to sh*t. So I'm on another round of antibiotics, they the first round wasn't strong enough and my strep may be coming back. As for the nose, I go back to the ENT tomorrow for a rescan and to see if surgery is needed. Last week I started getting the side pain again. So seeing as I had 4 different docs and none of them had a clue what it was, I went to my OB and demaded a u/s while I was having the pain. Of course, it didn't show anything. But I did tell him I needed answers NOW. I'm tired of being in pain, I told him all my symptoms and how this is consistent with my cycle. That it gets so painful I'm doubled over and can barely talk. He said it sounds like it could be endometriosis, he said the only thing not consistent with it is my fertility. I told him not to even take that into consideration, because my Mom had a full hysterectomy at 33 because she had endo so bad it moved one of her ovaries over to the other side and she was prego 5 times. He was like, I guess ya'll are just fertile....umm yea dude, back on topic! I also discussed my bleeding issues. He (this wasn't my reg OB, but I've seen him before) said he thought it would be best to do laperscopic surgery to ck the endo and do an ablasion at the same time for the bleeding. So in the end, I need 2 surgeries probably. I have NO time off work, but I do have short term disability. I guess I'm just looking for suggestions. I've been so sick for months, need these 2 surgeries. Do you think maybe I should talk to my doctors about filing this under FMLA and being out of work for a little bit, having the surgeries and being able to recover from both? IDK what else to do, otherwise I dont know how I will take off work to recover. I've already used 108hrs of PTO this year all on sick days, not ONE day off for fun. Sad Thanks for listening ladies, hoping the STD will work.

I'm so sorry - that really sucks!

After reading FMLA - I think you could qualify. Having two surgeries for very painful conditions. Do you have an HR department that you could speak to on policies? I would def bring it up to each physcian.

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) provides an entitlement of up to 12 weeks of job-protected, unpaid leave during any 12-month period to eligible, covered employees for the following reasons: 1) birth and care of the eligible employee's child, or placement for adoption or foster care of a child with the employee; 2) care of an immediate family member (spouse, child, parent) who has a serious health condition; or 3) care of the employee's own serious health condition. It also requires that employee's group health benefits be maintained during the leave. The FMLA is administered by the Employment Standards Administration's Wage and Hour Division within the U.S. Department of Labor.

:bighug: I'm sorry, Rachel. What did he say recovery time would be from surgery?

Could he not do those 2 procedures at the same surgery?? At least you'd have a bit less recovery time that way.

SO sorry you're having a hard time with your body at the moment Rachel, ((big hugs)) from me too. I think you have to approach each of those issues one at a time and sort of 'knock them off', and once you're finished with one of them, you'll feel a whole lot more positive.

I really hope the ENT says that you don't need surgery today - maybe just the antibiotics can clear things up there?? Keep us posted mama.. thinking of you today!

Kirsten one has to be done by my ENT and the other by my OB, so 2 seperate procedures Sad The ENT put me on the strongest steriods he can give me today in hopes to strink the polyps and all the inflammation. He walked in and was shocked bc my nose is so purple he thought it had been hit again. He said that I should be feeling better by tonight and if I'm not then I need to call him back in the am. The next step would be to go back in. I'm flipping miserable and I seriously almost went off at the people at the pharmacy. But I'm home now, took my meds and about to nap before the kids get home. Hoping I feel better by tomorrow, I gotta go back to work Sad YUCK!

((HUGS))

That is absolutely FMLA-- and if you can get your salary covered by STD that is the way to go. That is how my employer does maternity leave-- STD + FMLA concurrently.

I hope you get some answers soon-- you are such a trooper to have lasted this long. You poor thing!

Wow!! You are a mess. Poor girl. I'm not sure I have any advice other than just get the surgeries done. I would do it ASAP. There is no reason for you to be in pain all time. Praying it all works out for you and you can be pain free!

Thanks Ladies, sometimes I seriously feel as if I might loose it. I get embarrassed when I'm sick cause I'm so tired of people saying "OMG, you are sick all the time". Umm yea I KNOW STUPID, like I like it or something. My mom called me today and told me to go get a pedi and she would pay for it. So I did and it was awesome, what I wouldn't give for DH to be able to rub my feet like that!

I'm hoping to be able to talk to my OB and get him to agree to sign off for me to be on FMLA for a little bit after my surgery. Even if it's 3wks, that would give me enough time to recover and rest up. If I end up having the sinus surgery again, that will only take a couple of days to recover from. I will keep you posted on what the OB says. Thanks for listening to all my belly aching ladies Smile

I am sure this sucks because you don't even have time in the day to do things that you want to do, much less while in pain. I would definitely look into the fmla, my sis is thinking about doing that for bunion (sp?) surgery.

I feel like you need the surgeries and the quicker the better. Good luck! KUP!

I got the FMLA paperwork today from my work and also called the OB back. I just wanted to see if I need to come back in and meet with him to discuss recovery time and all or not. I also want to see if he will ck out my bladder while in there..........I have NO control since having Jake, even while doing kegels. So can't hurt to look while he's there. Just waiting on them to call back. I can't wait til this is all over and done with, I just want to feel normal again..........and have a sex life again!

Oh man hun, I really hope you are starting to feel better. As for the bladder, do you think maybe it was damaged during delivery? My sisters was actually hanging out of her body after delivery with both her kids. Her doc said the only way to really fix it so she has more control is surgery. She has waited until she was sure she was done having kids, but I think she plans on getting it fixed now.

I had 2 vaginal births before Jake, so I'm thinking that's probably when it could of happened. I've just noticed that I don't have much control, even if I go pee and then do a jumping jack, I leak. And I've been getting up 2 times a night to pee, it's like I'm pregnant all over again! I go back to my OB Sept 7th for a more in depth talk about all the surgeries, ready to get this all rockin' and rollin'!

And Tara, we missed you!!

I missed you all too!!!

I talked to my sister about hers last night. She said that when she works out she can leaks and just feel "loose" down their. Weird. If it's the same thing, I think her doc said it was fairly easy to fix, but then he's a male so he would have NO idea what it's really like! Good luck and I hope you can get all of this stuff taken care of and feel better again.
