Mothers Day Plans?

Anyone have fun/exciting plans to celebrate this weekend? Nothing big here...my in-laws are coming to visit for 2 weeks starting tomorrow and on Sunday I am watching Ev's friend for a bit so a pretty low key day for us.

I am a lifelong Reds baseball fan. So, I asked DH if we could go to a Reds game for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, the Reds are out of town on Mother's Day. So, we got tickets for the next weekend - May 14th. We'll celebrate both Mother's Day and DS' 8th birthday! (It costs $200.00 for 4 tickets! Holy Smokes! No wonder we only go once a blue moon. But, the Reds are good this year . . .)

On the actual Mother's Day, I have no big plans, which sounds perfect. I've been s busy the past two weekends that I was happy to get to work and slow down by Monday. I will buy my mom some hanging baskets and take them over to her. I'd love to take her out for breakfast. We shall see.

My birthday is this weekend so we're having a family dinner Friday night for that and to celebrate Mother's Day for the inlaw side of the family. Not sure what Wes has planned, hopefully something nice!

For Mother's Day we will probably end up doing whatever the MIL wants to do bc that's what always flippin happens (in a great mood, can u tell?). But we are having Jakes baby decdication on Sunday at church, so that's one thing I know for sure. I'm so late on doing it Sad

DH will be out of town for 10-12 days so I'm going to enjoy my solo time with friends and doing gardening. Yahoo

My birthday is on Friday, but I doubt we'll do anything for either day. Colin is still out of town, so I'm not going to plan anything for myself haha.

We have baseball almost every night this week, except for tomorrow when Cooper and I are going to one of his little friends' b-day party.

Hopefully the weather will turn a bit nicer so I can plant the garden. I'm itching Smile

No big plans here. I really wanted to go to the park and have a picnic, I've been wanting to do this for YEARS, but it's supposed to rain. So we may just have to do it another time. But nothing really exciting planned. I had wanted to take the girls to this place called the "Clayground". You paint ceramics then they fire them for you. I wanted to do a platter with my hand prints and theirs on top of mine. But of course the place JUST closed. GRRRRRR. So DH went to Michaels to see what he could find. He ended up getting a slice of a tree that we can do it on! So other then that, nothing exciting.

Ugh, you just reminded me that I have a half-finished giraffe at the paint-your-own-pottery place here. It has been there since my friends' daughters' last b-day, ummm, last March! I guess I'd better go see if it's still there hahaha!

Geez, I have no idea. I usually worry about doing something (gift, call, skype etc) for my mom and MIL - I always kind of forget that Mother's Day is about ME too! Smile

I like the idea of a picnic.. that sounds like a great idea, at a big local park or something.
