My independent little peanut

So we've been ignoring the potty training battle. Erin, do you want to use the potty? "No thank you"
Isn't she polite? Wink
So we've tried leaving her w/out diapers.....lots of cleaning pp off floor.
This AM I had her without diaper and she starts dancing saying "need to use potty"
So mommy runs into bathroom to encourage her to come in. She runs away. Great. So I leave the bathroom, she then comes in, crawls up and I hear "tinkle, tinkle."
So the key to potty training her? "Do it by self!!" hehe
Oh....and no party either.....we tried that early on and she was not happy about everyone knowing.....
My low key, independent little peanut may not wear diapers to Kindergarten after all!

LOL!!!

That’s in contrast with Ivy who has to announce it to very person individually before she can actually get to the bathroom. It’s caused her to miss a couple times when someone doesn’t respond.

“I have to go to the bathroom Daddy”
“OK, Ivy”
“I have to go to the bathroom Mommy”
“Hurry up!”
“I have to go to the bathroom Skyler”
No answer…
“Skyler, I have to go to the toilet”
No Answer.
“SKYLER I HAVE TO GO TOILET!”
“Skyler, please acknowledge your sister”
“What?”
“Tell Ivy to go toilet!”
“Oh.”
“SKYLER LISTEN TO ME! I HAVE TO GO TOILET!”
“Go then!”
… and then it goes through any visitors at the house at the time!

Maybe they could both compromise?

This sounds like Kaylin, she has to announce to everyone that she has to go peeeeeeee. And it's caused her to have a few accidents in the process! She even likes to tell random people in public.

Grady's a low-key guy too! He has been climbing on and off the toilet independently for about 6 months now, but it's only in the last couple of months that he's completely trained. But whenever he goes, he does everything himself (apart from wiping #2 which I insist on, even though he insists that he can do it by himself. The half roll of paper in the toilet with nothing on it says otherwise...). If I happen to follow him into the bathroom, he'll screech at me "GET OUT! WANT MY PWIVACY!!!" with a huge smirk on his face. So out I go. Then he comes parading out and demands his treats for peeing (which we still haven't gotten out of.. sigh).

We tried treats, stickers, singing and clapping after each try, etc. She wants none of it. She's not a real "work for reward" kinda kid.
She did tell daddy when he got home, but that was about it.
