Toenails

Love that thread title, don't you?

Okay. All of a sudden, Michael does not want his toenails cut! (Tara, this is when he'll start his version of a tantrum!) I don't know what else to try! Suggestions?

He loves his footed pj's but tonight I might have to put him in regular pj's and sneak in during the night. :shrug:

Is there anything new that your duckling is refusing to cooperate for?

It helps if we sing or read a book while the other is cutting the nails - keeps Kaylin distracted. For us, the big fight is brushing hair. She screams like I am pulling her hair out piece by piece, it's awful! But she has so much hair, I have to brush it or it looks like total bed head.

The only way I can get the girls to let me even TOUCH their toes is to bride them with polish. Sorry, probably won't be too helpful!

DH bites Leo’s toe nails to keep them short (the midwife swears by this because it means fewer accidents with the clippers and DH had a nasty one with Reed).

In any case, Ivy now bites her toe nails so we don’t have an issue about keeping them short!

Um… one thing at a time. We’re working on brushing teeth now. We’ll work on nail clipping later.

She does want her nails clipped if DH is cutting his, though, so that’s a step.

Still don't have any problems with that with Grady. I just show him how I cut my own, then do his. If he starts to squirm, I ask him if he wants me to do one more of mine.

DS1 gave me such headaches with his toenails.. it was SO frustrating. I went long periods not being able to get near them - so they'd even start to curl under. Yuck. But he was also a terrbible sleeper so I wasn't going to wake him up by sneaking in at night! GL - it's the smallest things that can become the biggest fights sometimes.

Um, just about everything? :rolleyes::lol:

Actually, it all depends on my little darling's mood We have to pick our battles and toenails isn't one of them at this point- and yes, they look gnarly. :puke2: We're working on washing hands and brushing teeth.

Thank goodness she still lets me pick out her clothes!! DS will ONLY wear super hero shirts and sweats. Blum 3

Hehehe... I refuse to have any clothes that have super heros or popular characters on them...

Animals, trucks airplanes, stripes squares, plad, plain bright colors... are OK. There's so many clothes out there and honestly, I'm nit buying anything unless it's a) something I need desperately (snow suit), AND I don’t have one that I inherited from a friend already, AND gardenbug hasn’t made one or commissioned someone to make it! LOL
